Jungle Cruise boat sinks!

Not really a huge thing nor half of the things we hear about on here. It’s happened before (prob drain plug) and several things much worse on attractions over disneys history. The difference every one has a portable video camera (cell phone) and a means to get it in front of millions of eyes (social media) before youd only hear from word of mouth and prob no proof. So while it always feels the sky is falling (not just disney) its just that everything is reported real time. If kennedy was shot today we would have more hundreds of angles.

They will definitely be proactive. I had an incident 2 years ago with a bed bug on my last night at jambo house. At 5am they opened the akl gift shop and my group of four were given new clothes, a free ride to the airport, one night of our stay comped and a free 3 day stay at any villa on property. I never asked for any of it. It was offered right away.
Staying at at premium resort does have perks. You think of one stayed at All Star Resort, one could get the same compensation package. Think not.

I didn’t say that it’s happened a lot. But it’s happened a few times over the years. No reason to link it to current operations or lowered standards when it’ a single occurrence that has happened before.

That is like a Yogi Berra quote.

It has never happened like this before. Leaking and completely sinking are different.

You know what I meant by the quote. It’s a single occurrence under current and recent operational standards.

And it HAS happened EXACTLY like this before.

If there's one thing that gives me more anxiety than a pandemic or the Skyliner, it's bed bugs. Eep!

Then the standards of safety and fixing things that continually happen have in fact fallen. How many times should a boat sink and compromise safety before it is a problem? You can state that it may have happened before, but even previous leaks are never this extreme. Your argument is completely flawed. Safety would not be an important standard if a boat is doing the one thing by design it should not do.

I don’t think you even understand what my argument is.

First of all I never said that standards have not fallen. They have. My point was that an isolated incident like this is not necessarily connected to those lowered standards. Especially when this has happened before back when standards were higher.

Boats sinking is not something that is continually happening. A few times over nearly 50 years is not continually happening.

There were previous incidents that very much were this extreme. This is not the first time a jungle boat has sunk like that. I don’t know why you keep stating that it hasn’t happened like this before and that previous incidents were just leaks. You are wrong. There have been previous incidents just like this where boats have sunk. Exactly like this. Different cause, same result. Cell phones and social media just weren't around to make you instantly aware.

Just because safety is important doesn’t mean things don’t happen.

Would you really just sit there for safety as opposed to stand on a dry piece of the boat? It's dangerous to stand on the side of a boat with an entire front to back roof rack?

I mean, kinda. If you slipped and fell off the wet sides of the boat and into the actual river, you could run into all sorts of safety issues. It's an operating attraction with all sorts of underwater mechanics and animated figures.

Cameras are more connected, but things were still well documented years ago. Can you provide a date or incident of this happening? One should have evidence. If it has only happened a few times.

Tourists have had portable cameras for decades. Not as instant, but it is not like it would not of had photos of one of those incidents if the ride was operating.
Things do happen, but this one was easily preventable and when you are saying this has happened before, than it is shameful.

It's the WDW version of the Pressler era.
