Are the hulls made of fiberglass? If so I suppose the one that sank was really old, not inspected very frequently and it developed a big crack. I'm not an expert ... but since it's been used on millions of boats, fiberglass must have known safety parameters for age, hours or years of use? From the Coast Guard or insurance companies for example.Found this picture from several years back of a boat out of the water. Just to give you an idea of how heavy-duty the guide wheels are.
