I just got back from Dixie Landing-er... Port Orleans Riverside. It was great. The dining hall is good, the rooms are fantastic, and the theming is superb. The resort also has a great pool. However, if anyone in your group has diffficulty walking long distances, you may want to rent a car or request a room near a bus stop.

I was bothered by the water mill contraption inside the dining hall. None of the cogs and shafts were turning (the wheel was, however). I remember going to Dixie Landings when I was younger and enjoying the "mechanical show" inside the dining hall while I ate breakfast. :(

Overall the resort is great. Have fun  .

POR is the best we were there in 96,01 and 05 visited most all other resorts can't see ourselves staying anywhere else.Building 18 near pool ,short walk to food court and main bus stop. You must try Boatwrights strawberries and cream for a breakfast starter and the ice cream sandwiches at bakery. The best on property

The Alligator rooms are all in Alligator Bayou. The buildings that are closest to the Main Building are 14 and 18 I believe. 27 didnt look too bad either. Take a look at the following link on Deb Wills' Site WWW.allearsnet.com
http://www.allearsnet.com/acc/pomap1.jpg
This is a copy of the map. It is a bigger file and may take some time to load so give it a minute or three. That should give you an idea as to where you want to be. If you arent really going to be eating breakfast in the food court or Boatwright's you may want to opt for a building closer to one of the pools or a bus stop though. It all depends on your group's style and plans!!! Belle

Riverside has definitely become one of our favorites. The CMs are great! Does anyone know if the same Bartender is there? I believe his name was Mike. What was incredible about this CM, was that he actually remembered a conversation ("Where you from? What do you do?, etc) we had a couple of years prior to this visit. I had mentioned what my occupation was and the company I worked for and was blown away when he mentioned it!

Now on a better note, 13 days until 2 glorious weeks at Saratoga Springs!!
