Journey of Water featuring Moana coming to Epcot

They showed the Birds Nest during the Olympics and the BBB was the first thing I thought of, a little added detail wouldn’t hide it but it could help make it feel like it belongs with the other unique buildings in Epcot…

I think you would probably want something more simplistic in order for it to mesh with the rest of World Discovery, especially since you would want it to recede relative to everything around it. Test Track is just a big mirrored cylinder, PLAY! is a simple dome, and Wonders of Xandar is a pseudo-trapezoidal prism; those are what it will be juxtaposed against on the horizon.

The Bird's Nest is an interesting thought from a materials standpoint, though. I believe it makes use of ETFE just like the TRON canopy, and you could probably use that to decent effect here if paired with a more regular design. There are plenty of applications that make it look like geometric quilting enveloping a more industrial structure, which could work.

Has Disney released any drawings about Journey of Water beyond the very basic Epcot overview concept art?

The overview made it look like a few waterfalls and some tree lined trails with waterways but all the concrete and steel construction seems like it’ll be more substantial.

Large walls and new age versions of Imagination water play is what I keep picturing. A splash pad walk through that teaches one what water goes through. I am going by this as you mentioned, not much else is given.

Hopefully there's an edutainment aspect like you mentioned. I'm all in if that's the case

Looks like this could be done by summer...I mean how much longer can it take? 🤷‍♂️
Really I feel like all of that dirt field could be finished by AT LEAST fall this year. They're moving at a pretty extraordinary pace now compared to like a year or two ago. The new entrance, Club Cool, Creations shop , Ratatouille, HarmonioUS, and Space 220 are all done. All that's left that we know for sure is still coming is the restaurant, Moana attraction, the Walt Statue, and the celebration plaza. The other projects are still questionable but we're pretty much halfway through.

Hopefully they have sections of the metal for the rockwork prefabbed.
They did that with parts of Galaxy's Edge and Pandora.
If that's the case, we might see vertical structures going up fairly soon.
Being this is far smaller and less elaborate than those places, maybe it'll look like something discernible before long.

A lot of work for something I am already disappointed with. I will look on the bright side, when Moana is eventually completed, the Harmonious barges will no longer the worst thing built in EPCOT..

Meh. I've seen better mazes in Highlights magazine.

I will have to disagree with both of you.

While it might not be the most exciting addition, I do believe it will be a positive addition.

That seems unlikely. At worst this should be a nice landscape feature that's pleasant to look at -- I don't see how it could be worse than the Harmonious barges.
