Journey into vacation with Justin!

Alright guys! here is my trip report from my Disney Vacation from 8/19/09-8/24/09. Things have been crazy and I was really hoping to get this typed up sooner. Sorry for the delay! I will start with Animnal Kingdom.

8/19/09

Animal Kingdom

The park looks great! They have done some great landscaping in front of The Tree Of Life. It really pops when you come through the gates. It is stunning. Animal Kingdom is slowly creeping up the latter of my favorite parks. It was by far the most croweded park that I saw.

I ate at Yak and Yeti. It was by far the best sit down I had during my entire trip. The Mango Pie is sure to be a Disney classic. It is just as good as Dole Whip.

The only other thing to really report on is Expedition Everest. I rode EE about 5 times during my trip. I noticed that the front waterfall was working. I also saw that the mist was on and working. The sad parts is, no movement from yeti and no bird at the top. Overall, it is still one of the best themed rides I have ever seen.

At the end of the day, there was the bus collision: http://forums.wdwmagic.com/showthread.php?t=481674

Stay tuned for pics and updates from other parks!

Cool!
Agree with you on EE. Even in B mode. It's still an awesome experience!
And glad you like Yak & Yeti, I see a lot of people putting in down. But on my only visit, I loved it!! Glad I'm not alone.
Looking forward to hearing more.

Disney's Hollywood Studios

The second day of our trip brought us to DHS. I always look forward to this park because I love the moives. It never really lets me down.

The first thing we did was run to Toy Story (we slept in because DHS was a repeat park later on in the week). We were going to fast pass it but the return was already for 6:40 and I really didn't want to miss it. Plus the wait time said 60 mins. So we got in line. Big mistake. We ended up being in line for two and a half hours. The wait time didn't get updated. I was very upset because we almost missed our reservation for Sci-fi. Other that the wait time(we were only able to ride it once the entire stay), I loved the ride. Pixar place is so pretty.

We didn't see Luxo Jr. at all. I even asked a CM about him. She said he was "shy" and needed to practice more.

As always, Sci-fi dinner theater was great. I loved the burgers and shakes.

I did "One Mans Dream" for the second time. I like it. I hope it dosn't move. We need more Walt-ish things in the parks. If anything, squeeze it into the Animation building where all the indoor M&Gs happen. I don't care for the M&Gs indoors. They look better outside. :)

I did however, meet the "Up" characters. They were awesome. And I don't see why people complain about the characters going away. They still do Toy Story, Monster's Inc, Cars and The Increadables. That seems like a pretty good bit.

I did all of the other DHS things. LMA, TOT, RaRc and GMR. I don't understand why they ony do two showings of LMA. It's new and popular... I finally got to see the Cowboy version of the GMR ride. I like it but I prefur the other one. I can see why they never really run it. The fire can cast $$$. Cool effects though.

Last but not least, Fantasmic. Both shows ended up being cramed full. I got there and hour and a half early to already find a hundred people or so. Thankfully, I got to pick my seat. I love this show. It is amazing. I really, really don't want them to add live action movies like people have been talking about. It could use a refurb.

Overall. awesome park. I had fun both days. I can't wait for BAH to leave. Stay tuned for pics!

Edit:

P.S. There have been changes at the M&Gs aroud the BAH that I am not too happy about. There are only the fab five meeting there now. No Marry Poppins, no villans, no Mulan and no Aladdin. :(

Epcot

Innovations:

Another amazing day in the parks for us. Epcot had by far the least amount of people during our entire stay.

ALL of the rides were almost walk ons. The only thing we fastpassed was Test Track which had like an hour wait.

Some random thoughts:

The shortest line was Mission: Space. No idea why that ride is not more popular. It's fun...

Something I am confised about is, why is the old Body Wars building is just sitting empty? Whos idea was that? it is So lame. it reminds me of Adventures Club. Also, I thought it was sad to see Living with the Land all closed up...none the less, Soran' was amazing as always.

We rode The Seas with Nemo and Friends. I really, really loved it. It was one of my favs. It was cool to see the fish at the end. it was also good to see the diver back in the tank!

The Foutain of Nations was working!!! I saw it three times as I was walking by. So pretty. I have missed it.

Spaceship Earth:

This is the first time I have ridden it since the redo. I liked most of what I saw. I loved the part where you build your own tomorrow. Awesome. The triangels were by far the worst thing I have ever seen in a dark ride at Disney World. Who is letting this go on? It seems SO wrong. I could have sworn I saw chicken wire...

World Showcase:

We did a walk around. I love WS. I think it may be one of the best things in WDW. Wonderful. I saw the Snow White M&G. It was very nice. I like the addition.

After that, we had dinner in Norway (my 2nd time). It was one of the worst meals of the trip for me. I had the Salmon. It was cold. :hurl: The fish they have at Crystal Palace is WAY better. Most of the Princesses were up to my standards. We had one of the best Cinderealls I have ever seen. Snow White had freckels and was a bit plump. Not the best.

After dinner, we did Kim Possible. It is amazing. It put an entire new light on WS. Lots of fun. Everyone should do it.

After we did everything (everything) in the parks, we settled down for Illuminations. The show was great. All of the effects were working. Wonderful way to top off a magic visit to Epcot.

Stay tuned for pics!
