Jose's SSE GEMENI TRIP REPORT

Then why aren't they polling people when they get off the ride? Although "Disney" supposedly reads discussion boards, I wouldn't that would be the only place they would be getting guest feedback.
Most people said Imagineers were talking to riders after they got off.

I know I shouldnt have, but I did watch. Overall, Im not really impress. I think the AA animation is a definate improvement. Everything else seemed alittle, I dont know, I guess Ill have to get used to.

I really cant 100 percent judge from just the video, but I am hoping that there is more to it then what I saw. I mean the thing that kinda gets me is the ridding of the communication theme. I could barely hear the narration but since most of the ride stayed the same, its almost like the theme should have as well, or atleast change the AA to fit more of what the lady is talking about.
Also the descent. I know it supposed to be about the touch screens and thats fine and cool, esp. since the original scenery was 100% communication, but at the same time, it doesnt really seem to do it any justice. Having the screens is cool, but riding it over and over again and seeing your future may get alittle tiring after awhile. Im pretty sure they do but if they dont they need to offer a wide variety of little character people then what was shown.

Those are my little nags about it, but Im just going to have to wait until Jan. to see it. Hopefully they wont shut it down for changes during my trip.

.

The narration and show pieces compliment each other well. Some scenes were changed although sometimes slightly, to reflect the narration.

Also, when the refurbishment is complete, your face will be on the character, so everyone's will be unique. And, there are enough combinations for your future that it will take a while to go through all of them.

Thanks Jose for the videos! Wow, the refurb looks amazing, I love the new narration, music, and interactive aspect of the ride! Looks great to me just from the videos so I can't wait to see it in person! I'm sure they aren't even close to being done with everything as most of the riders have noticed some things not being on. Plus isn't that the point of a soft opening....getting feedback and etc. I'm very pleased with everything from what I've seen on the videos and other members feedback from the ride itself.

I'd love to know what questions they're asking riders. I mean, did they seriously expect people to be satisfied with 5 minutes of touch-screens in a dark tunnel after 10 minutes of elaborate detailed AA scenes?

99% chance they're avoiding criticism of the finale, saying it's not done yet since the face-recognition isn't complete, and chalking all the complaints up to the lack of pasted-on faces in the animation. When that's done, surely people will love it!

I don't know the budget for the refurb and where it was divided into as far as the new aspects but I would think alot of the money went into the finale...the interactive part I mean. Yes it's different, and yet I like it!

so basically whereas horizons allowed all four people two choose an ending and majority ruled....now we have a personalized ending...but only 2 of the 4 people in the vehicle can even use it. Unless you do group work and settle on the answers.

That means I will have to temporarily knock my sister out...and hope she regains conciousness by the end of the ride because if us and our relatives are all in the vehicle she and I will deff not agree about the future. :hammer:

I dunno....without a touch screen for everyone I can see alot of people fighting over who chooses what answer as well as alot of forgeiners doing this  and yeah....

well at least rome is still burning since 1982

That's exactly what I suspect will happen. Lean on the good responses, and explain away the negative ones by saying it's not finished.

By doing these soft openings Disney really has a great position. Park fanatics will give Disney a break because the ride isn't finished yet. I don't get how anyone would be interested in a little video screen for 5 minutes after just going through 10 minutes of immersive scenes. But Disney loves screens. Ah, if we'd only known that the future of SSE looks like an ATM screen. How exciting.

Exactly. They act like this is such an interactive ending (a la Horizons), but the questions they ask are things people would have to answer INDIVIDUALLY. I glanced over Jose's pictures and the questions were like "How often do you think about your health?" "Do you take vitamins?" etc. Those are questions that need the answer of one person, not two.

I wonder if people will request a single row when the figure out that the screens work better with one person answering. We'll just have to chalk this up to another great design idea by WDI.

I bet if they are reading this, "they being Disney", they are thinking "Oh Lord, we've got another imagination on our hands"

Let's hope not. I hope the descent is more elaborate or they will have some trouble.

Oooh HD! Downloading now :D

I can't really judge the narration from the youtube video as I can barely understand what she's saying, but I just adore her voice so I'm sure I'll like it. The AAs, on the other hand, look spectacular, even on the 'Tube.
