Joe Rohde!!??

Hi I'm new today at animal kingdom and I'm new here and don't know why but I saw Joe Rohde. He was outside of the park entrance as I was leaving with 5 other people around him. I was sondering what reasons he could be there for?? Is this rare????...I thought maybe it was the dine with an imagineer thing but the other people didn't look like tourists!

There could be several reasons why he would be there. He is the head imagineer over at Animal Kingdom so who knows what he is looking at.

Joe Rohde is a little too high up the food chain to do dining with an imagineer, plus that is held in two restaurants that aren't at AK. Anyway, AK is Joe's park, and he is the head creative guy there. He's pretty distinctive, so I will take your word that you saw him, but I can't imagine why he would be here and not in Hawaii with that resort so close to opening (he is in charge of that project as well).

Im sure in a drop of a dime he could be on a plane back to hawaii. People like him are known to jump on a plane for a conference and then be back on the plane home in a matter of hours.

Something big is happening here! My guess is Iger was there to make a final decision on whether to sign off on an expansion. He decides to green light the project and now Rhode comes in to start guiding the project.

I don't think the big wigs actually need to go to a park in order to green light something. That could be and probably would be done somewhere where scale models and other information could be presented out of public eye.

Joe is the lead designer for the park. He's there fairly frequently.
Nothing to get excited about. It's like seeing Jacobsen at MK or Baxter at Disneyland.

Animal Kingdom = My favorite park. Perhaps this some equals fire? Who knows. But I would love a new attraction.
