So we were given a hint long ago and no one guessed it.

Well I do remember suggesting after the purchase of Lucasfilm that the IJ IP could and should be exploited outside of DHS. Hopefully there is more to come. Seems likely since they just announced a new film. But this is just my personal opinion.

I am not getting my hopes up, the next couple Star Wars movies already have release dates yet they are still dragging their feet putting more Star Wars content in the parks.

Not sure if anyone else is excited about this but i am. Could this be a bar theater like atmosphere like the AC? If this is the replacement call me thrilled.

Mmmmaybe, but the concept art doesn't seem to indicate as much. There's certainly no visible stage from this angle.
Still, given the runaway success of both Trader Sam's bars, I would expect WDI, assuming they're involved, to add some bartender-controlled show elements to enhance the atmosphere.

The IJ themeing of this restaurant just seems odd. Usually movie tie in are of places that actually existed in the films they represent. This just feels forced and very contrived. This feels more Bubba Gump than 3 Broomsticks.
That's because I think it is more Bubba Gump.

This bar was announced sometime last year I believe and the Jock Lindsey name wasn't mentioned at all, nor were there any hints leading towards this. Just seems like they knew a bar would be popular, but for a bar that size, adding on some fanboi service last minute by adding some Indiana Jones references and possibly some Trader Sam's-ish antics will keep people coming back. My big question is how does this #STORY tie in at all with the Disney Springs #STORY? Why does Jock Lindsey have a bar here?

I don't want to jump all over this yet because there's nothing yet to tell me this will be a bad establishment, I just think it's a bad use of the IP. It is, however (from Disney's POV anyway), good to get the IJ name out there in a more relevant way than a 20+ year old stunt show that will soon be closing. Now if we could only get a good IJ attraction here...

Very, very contrived. Besides, Disney Springs is set in the present. Raiders of the Lost Ark is set in 1936, a mere 79 years ago.

Yes. :) Although, I admit that even as much as I love IJ, I had no clue that the pilot's name was Jock Lindsey. LOL I didn't realize this place was a movie tie-in.
Hell, I thought it was a celebrity chef or something like that when I first read it.

It seems clear to me that the Jock Lindsey name and IJ theme didn't get added in until just recently. They likely looked at the reception Trader Sam's got and the demand for a themed bar like that and decided to add in the IJ theme.

How quickly the tone turned in a matter of hours on this thread...

Ha, isn't that the truth.

For me, I think that this is a great idea and cannot wait to check it out. It should be a great addition along with the other restaurants in the lineup for Disney Springs.

We just ate at Thr Boathouse over the weekend and it was an excellent restaurant. This type of establishment will add some variety which is great.
