Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! coming to Disney's Hollywood Studios

I've been so impressed with Disney's use of projector mapping, I went out and bought the software. I'm almost done editing the video I'll show on my house starting Thanksgiving. Only one projector, so its a much smaller presentation, but I've got wireless speakers and a subwoofer hooked up as well. The software is surprisingly inexpensive and very easy to use. All you need is powerpoint and video files. I'm aiming to win the neighborhood contest this year.

Hmm.

Didn't have the emotional impact I was thinking it would.

The pacing is way off, to much "Prep and Landing" and not nearly enough frozen (kidding on the Frozen part.)
Why does it feel like someone took the "Totally Tomorrowland Christmas" script and plagiarized 50% of it?

Seems like a decent projection show, but as for fireworks.. eh, it's no wishes... not even close (the offset launch positions, and stuff missing from the GMR roof, doesn't help it any..)

Lasers of course, looked great.

Eh, I'd give it a..6

You're so kind, I was going to give it a 4. Haha! Good review, echos most my thoughts.

My biggest issue? Disney has so many wonderful renditions of all the Christmas songs used in the show and... yeah there wasn't a single one I liked aside from the choir singing Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas. How do you screw up The Christmas Song so horribly? How do you make We Need A Little Christmas sound so soulless? Why was there so much Nightmare? Sigh. I'll stick with Season of Light.

Am I the only one annoyed by the unbalanced fireworks? Weird little bursts of fireworks showing up on the LEFT side only. It looked like half of the launchers weren't working. Then, the bigger finale ones were exclusively on the RIGHT side. Something about that really felt wrong and uneven.

I skipped ahead a few times. It was..fine. But no Osborne Lights. And not a fireworks show either. Meh.

I don't discount the technical expertise of the projections but for entertainment value, I'd have to give a "meh". It dragged for quite a bit then I was just getting psyched for a full use of "What is this?" when it just started then it went to something else. Maybe I'm spoiled by the Osborne Lights. I just think it could have been better with some of the music we remember from Osborne Lights supplemented by projections and fireworks. There was the potential for a "Wow" factor. Instead, it just fizzled.

How does frozen equate to christmas? Having a lot of snow does not equate to christmas entertainment.

Unless you go full-on nativity of the incarnate deity (which Disney does do in the Candlelight Processional), then, yes, Christmas is just snow and evergreens and jollyiness and magical elven gift givers and sleigh bells and decking stuff and family and letting it snow and letting it go and snowmen with magical hats or ice queen creators and more snow and winter and stars and lights and more snow.

Except its not and apparently not by Disney standards any more either given how Winter Dreams got the boot for the much more christmas oriented Seasons of Light for DCA. So again how does Frozen a story not set in christmas and having 0 to do with the holiday season deserve to be a "holiday" entertainment nighttime spectacular? Elsa lighting a castle to look like ice is one thing, a recap of the films events and songs for a nighttime holiday show is another.
