Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! coming to Disney's Hollywood Studios

Unless you go full-on nativity of the incarnate deity (which Disney does do in the Candlelight Processional), then, yes, Christmas is just snow and evergreens and jollyiness and magical elven gift givers and sleigh bells and decking stuff and family and letting it snow and letting it go and snowmen with magical hats or ice queen creators and more snow and winter and stars and lights and more snow.

But the film Frozen took place in the summer in Arendelle, it doesn't work any more for a Christmas theme than Aladdin would for asummer theme becuase there is sand in the dessert and sand on a beach.

They use Elsa for the Castle lights as she uses her powers to "freeze" the castle, but also then you have Frozen in MK so its not needed in DHS as well.

Thanks. Bummer. I was hoping it was someone that you can't see anywhere else at the park.

You can't see Santa Goofy anywhere else at the moment, they have actual Santa as the regular meet. Santa Goofy will only appear after Christmas Day when Santa returns to the North Pole.

Is Santa Goofy still part of the character line up at Minnie's Seasonal Dine at Hollywood and Vine?

The website lists Goofy as meeting, but I don't know his outfit.

But if he is in Santa suit, it still means the only way to meet Santa Goofy is either the dessert party or Minnie's dinner buffet.

Santa Goofy is meeting at DAK. He is also in Minnie's Holiday Dine.

I saw somewhere that he's a meet and greet during the Christmas party. Can anyone confirm this?

Yes. I'd be happy if he is the character during my dessert party night. It means one less line for us!

I don't want to watch the video.. but I'm going to take all of the negative statements here with a grain of salt.

I didn't think this was supposed to be a firework show, the website didn't list it that way. Fireworks go on every single night in the summer, they aren't as "special" as a projection show..imo anyway.

Did anyone do the dessert party?

Here is a description of the show directly from Disneys website:
"Delight in the sights ‘n’ sounds of an all-new Santa-sized spectacular, jam-packed with special effects, holiday music, fireworks—even snow!"

They describe it as "jam packed". Not sure that a few rando fireworks on one side of the theater qualifies as jam packed. Its just another offering from Disney that is "cute", "nice" and "not bad". Compared to the Osbourne Lights, this show is a dumpster fire. The apologists will put a good spin on it though.

I really liked it. Loved the little pieces of movies (new and old), loved the snow, loved the lasers. Even loved the nightmare before Christmas section. What I think needs fixed is the Oogie Boogie part needs taken out and the little "puffs" of fireworks needs to be given a serious upgrade. I would definitely stop and watch it.

That was a very interesting show. Only going off of the video posted, but this is definitely something I have no problem skipping when I'm in the World a few weeks from now. While its not marketed as a fireworks show, I felt there were just way too many projections. It felt a little tacky with how much projection and lasers they used through out the show. Seemed like they shoehorned a lot in the show just so they could use lasers. I did enjoy the classic Christmas songs, but couldn't exactly follow what was going on. The whole love scene part was just weird. But that's just my opinion. I'm sure there are plenty of people who enjoyed it. :)

Does the dessert party take place there prior to the show and have a roped off area to watch the show from later? I can't imagine the GMR courtyard being a very good place to watch from, in fact it would be terrible, would it not?
Yes, the guests move out to a viewing area 15 mins before the show starts. It is roped off, and directly infront of the left-side projection tower (stage left).

It's fine for a first iteration.

They missed the opportunity to have a full-on "What's This?" song from Jack and to have a lot more of the frost nymphs from the Nutcracker (Fantasia). I'd drop the romance montage that was shoe-horned in there.

Agree completely. So much potential for projections and fireworks with that song. For a show called "Jingle BAM", there wasn't much "BAM" there.
