Allright ImaYoyo... spill the beans... you've been teasing us for a month now with the rumours of PI and what is going to go on there.... can't you let us know something more definate.... Could you at least say whether Jim Hill is really full of it on this one?? Yes or No?

P.S I really can't stand when they announce that something may close or go for refurbishment and some self centered person has the audacity to state: "as long as it's not Closing by July thats fine by me ;P" ... It reekes of infantile and me-centric behaviour, if your an avid fan of the AC you certainly must be over or near the age of 21... try acting like it.

No, the American Idol show is going in the ABC Theater. Those are two different spaces that are close together.

Drew Carey's "Sounds Dangerous!" is in the ABC Sound Studio. Doug Live! and Superstar Television was in the ABC Theater.

Also, I must mention that Drew Carey's contract is nearly over and they are probably desperately looking for something new to take over the space.

I doubt they are desperate :animwink:

Well maybe its moving to the new mini Park Disney are planning to rival Sea Worlds Discovery Cove? Rumors are abound that it would be more of an adventure park with guided tours into jungles, caves and such (all pre-fabricated for sure) but having it with the the Adventures Club being the start of the night, adventure sounds good to me. I could be wrong, but I know I would enjoy it.

Pete

Disney aren't planning a high-end mini-park, no matter how many unofficial sources say so. If it's going to another park, I would like to see it in a similar position to Rainforest Cafe at Animal Kingdom, where you can enter from both inside and outside the park.

Camp Minnie Mickey would seem to be an ideal place. They could finally expand it into a full land and it should be possible to have an outside entrance near Rainforest.

Well I'm very interested to find out who Jim Hill knows, because this sounds like that game... what was it called... telephone? Grapevine? Where you whisper something, and pass it down the line, and see how messed up it is by the end...

So you think Jim hill's phone lines are crossed??

What did you whisper to him originally?? (or is that too personal)?

C'mon yoyo, your killing us... let's have some beans, served el-spilled-o style!!

The adventurer's club will be entertaining guests for quite a while, as-is. ish. No reason to fuss as long as we keep offering a free drink to the colonel. And for the record, I don't tell that guy anything. Job security doesn't involve whispering those sorts of things. Seriously rubs me the wrong way when people share too much. That's P.R.'s job, not ours...

DTD is Evolving

I don't know how many people here have been to the "Marketplace" end of DTD lately but it is crowded at all times of the day and has become very very popular (read profitable). And yet the PI portion and West End have somewhat sparse crowds even in the evening. It is obvious that these areas no longer are meeting their potential of what the average Disney customer is looking for in nightime entertainment with some exceptions. So while it may appear in the short term as a "spiral down" (as JH put it) in the long term this transition will better serve the vast majority of WDW guests. And that is why it is there in the first place. As someone likes to say, "WDW is not a museum". And for the "club hoppers" who are concerned, there is always City Walk.

(can't wait to see what Jim Hill writes about on Friday!)

Erm, sorry but even Jay, the head of Parks and resorts has said that Disney was looking into the high park concept. Disney is going to do such a feature. I wonder if it will be an extension to Animal Kingdom possibly going in the area that has already been cleared. It would be a perfect fit.

Unofficial sources are usually better than official sources.

Link please. A nighttime park for WDW was only ever discussed in that podcast way back and the 2010 article, both unofficial (and in the second case intentionally fictional) sources. Or are you confusing it with the regional expansion ideas?

Sorry, I didn't mean to accuse you of telling Jim Hill any juicy secrets... I forgot to follow that with the appropriate smilie or at least a *sarcasm*... Totally sorry...

... For the record, I would not complain if you shared a little too much information on here... *grin* ...I kid... I kid!!

Drew Carey's Sounds Dangerous is the worst absolute piece of garbage of all-time.

That being said (i have to slag it whenever i can, sorry) the AC has to stay outside the parks or they have to keep it open till 2am. I mean if they kill PI there will be nothing to do at Disney at night time. I know its not popular right now, but i think its because they're not plussing it enough. They could probably get rid of half of the clubs and just make 5-6 really good ideas. Karaoke, the AC, 8 trax, comedy and something new.

That's the smartest thing I've seen on here in a while! Hope you like the idea.

Motion, BET, and Mannequins make more money than AC and Comedy Warehouse do, so I don't think Disney is in a hurry to close those three. Plus, Disney has to pay the performers.

8-Trax does very well with the middle aged crowd reliving their glory days, and it's popular with the younger folk too (if anything, for the entertainment value of watching middle aged drunken convention guests try and hit on the young girls), so hopefully that club will stick around.

AC probably brings in a decent turnstile count on a nightly basis, though, since it's usually the club with the shortest line. So a lot of the CP's will get their wristband at the AC, walk through the turnstile, make a U-turn and leave so they don't have to wait in line at Motion.

To get back on topic, if AC is to move, I'd like to see it at the Boardwalk, however it doesn't fit in very well with the theming (then again, ESPN is a bit of a stretch)

Imayoyo I feel as though your saying that things are gonna change and become much more....focused. By this I mean that it will change from every kind of club on the planet, to ones which appeal directly to the masses. By this I mean lets not have 5 dance clubs with different kinds of music. Lets have 1 club that plays all of these kinds of music. Am I headed in the right direction?
