Want a fun and 'educational' game to play? :hammer: How about a game where YOU are Lee Harvey Oswald and you can re-create the assassination of John F. Kennedy? Yep, you follow the virtual Presidential motorcade thru the streets of Dallas, left turn onto Dealey Plaza, take aim, and POW, POW, POW! Points are awarded based on your accuracy. Isn't that cool? You not only have the chance of killing a President over and over again, but you learn that a lone gunman could have killed the President some 41 years ago. Isn't education fun? :brick:

PS: There's a blood option available too. How cool is that?

Heard about this one the other day. Some people will do anything for $. Saw an interview on CNN where a spokesperson for the game company stated that the purpose for releasing this game was, in part, to prove that Oswald could have accomplished the deed single-handedly and to help disprove a conspiracy theory about multiple shooters. What the heck is going on in the world now a days?! :brick:

I saw this the other day. It makes me sick. They keep showing it on the news and Im shocked every time! Who do these people think they are?? I know I wasnt around, but why do you think people can remember where they were at the exact moment they heard that news. Because it was horrible. Not something to allow CHILDREN to recreate over and over.
Sigh...its totally sad. (in my opinion)

I agree, Vince...and the media plays right into their hands and the coverage gives them FREE publicity. :zipit: The managing director of the firm who produced this has been all over the cable and networks explaining the game and it's educational value. Brilliant no-cost advertising campaign when you think about it. :wave:

I'm all for the Grand Theft Auto series. But this is just SICK!!!!!!!!!!!!! Recreating that day in Dallas to "educate" people that Oswald could have done the whole thing single-handedly is just a silly notion to me. I may have been born almost 2 decades after it happened, but damn!!!!!!!!!! This is right up there with the live camera on a rifle to shoot deer in real life.

As a member of that generation, who was there (I was sitting in Mrs. Smith's 2nd Grade class when the principal came over the loudspeaker and announced what had happened and then turned the radio on so we can listen to the news. We then were sent home early and I remember walking home like a zombie stunned that the world was so cruel. A loss of innocence felt by many and similar to 9/11.) the creation of this game (how do you call it that?) is one of the most disgusting blatant forms of exploitation I have ever seen. I can only hope that this is rejected by the public and all of the copies end up being burned.

As an aside, I made my first trip to Dallas last week and drove down the road by teh Texas Book Depository that JFK was shot - The Grassy Knoll. I didn't realize that I was headed to that spot. As soon as you enter the road, you instinctly know where you are and all of the emotions and pictures come back to your mind. After all of these years, it still has that impact on you when you are face to face with it. What if it didn't happen....?

Now I am even angrier than when I posted the above. I just heard on Fox News that not only is this a game but also a worldwide contest. Seems that the best shooter can win $10,000 and maybe even $100,000. The players will be competing against each other for the prize. If this is true, then the whole affair smells even worse. I hope parents unite and don't let their kids play.

LMAO...you'll never forget it and neither will I. I was 13 years old sitting in my Earth Science class as a high school freshman. We learned of the shooting around 2pm and then soon after we heard JFK died.

I lost my Dad earlier that year, January of 63, and my Mom was a complete basket case. Hell, the communists were going to take over the country. My uncles, WW2 vets, were talking about a possible coup d'etat, an expression I had never heard before but struck fear in my heart. We had a city-wide air-raid drill that afternoon and every day after for about a month.
The entire country was stunned in a way I've never seen since, including September 11th.

...and then, two days later, Oswald gets shot on live TV, a moment frozen in my mind forever.

I'd like to think that people would reject this game, perhaps even boycott stores that sell it, but you can bet your butt there are parents planning on having this lovely game under the tree on Christmas morning for their ambitious youngsters. Isn't the modern mind wonderful? :wave:

I spent the first 18 years in Bridgeport, hon. Then I went to Southeast Asia for a few years and, while I was gone, my Mom moved to Monroe. When I got home, I went to college in NJ then lived with my mom for a few years before buying my own house in Monroe, a short walk to your house. :kiss:

I went to Kolbe, a Catholic HS, taught by Franciscan Monks, thus, an explanation as to why I'm so perverted. :hammer:

My older brother went to Harding as well as most of the neighborhood kids. My brother is 2.5 years older than me so he may know her. :lol:
