Jessica and not Roger

The birthday cards Disney still uses at the Crystal Palace (which are VERY old stock), that feature Mickey, Roger, and Figment (signs of a better time?) say on the them... ©Disney ©Amblin. The ©Amblin is on every bit of Roger Merchandise I've ever seen, but ironically, ©Disney isn't on all

I have an offer for you:

Now, I will go to the parks soon... perhaps this evening, I will locate some Jessica Rabbit Merchandise, and if I see ©Amblin anywhere on it, WITHOUT Roger being featured, I will eat my words, and you'll never hear from me again.

But if I don't find one, you leave WDWMagic and never post again.

Do we have an agreement?

Whatever, but I will still visit WDWMagic and post messages at other topics whenever I want.

And when you're out tonight, PLEASE do me a favor and look EVERYWHERE on EVERY Jessica item REALLY closely--you'll see Copyright Disney/Amblin on them, just as you would with an item featuring Roger.

And that card, the Amblin on the side is just a shorter way of saying copyright Disney/Amblin. If they were to put a Pixar character on something, for example, and just say Pixar on the side, it's also a shorter or different way of them saying "copyright Disney/Pixar".

There.

No deal. I'll just wait for you to be banned. Or have a death caused by my posting

MKT, I still want you to go out and read those copyright notices on those merchandise items tonight...for my sake and yours!

And if I'm right, you'll still have to eat up your words.

And if I'm wrong (which I know I'm not), I'm still not going to go anywhere. Besides, I have my rights, you know.

i have one of those cards... i was surprised they had that still all these years latter... I cherish that card...

I know some things are strage....

Roger i know is both companies... and in the attraction at DL the cabs have a slightly different name... Obviously their are a few things that each company owns from this great movie...

(perhaps disney does own jessica... since she is used more than any other character in their parks..)

Also, MKT, you picked a VERY bad time to reply to a topic like this--I AM NOT IN A VERY GOOD MOOD RIGHT NOW, SO PLEASE STOP RESPONDING TO "EVERY" ROGER, JESSICA, ET AL. TOPIC UNDER THE SUN!

(sigh) Once again, you are DEAD wrong, MKT!

Someone else already taught you several months ago that ALL the Roger characters are jointly-owned by Disney and Amblin, according to the US copyright office! DID YOU LEARN NOTHING, MKT?!

Folks, don't listen to him--he's wrong--you know that, I know that, he knows that, EVERYBODY KNOWS THAT!

Also, MKT, you picked a VERY bad time to reply to a topic like this--I AM NOT IN A VERY GOOD MOOD RIGHT NOW, SO PLEASE STOP RESPONDING TO "EVERY" ROGER, JESSICA, ET AL. TOPIC UNDER THE SUN! YOU'RE GOING TO BE THE DEATH OF ME!
Philip, this isn't the way to carry out a discussion. Uppercase is perceived as shouting, and you have no right to tell people to stop responding. Please be more considerate in your posts. Thanks.

A quick google search shows that there's been some recent legal rulings in regards to Roger Rabbit. "Wolf v. Disney" - problem is that it's a subscription thing to see the details. One date was listed as recently as February 2004.

So...who knows what exactly is going on with it all?

The cabs in the Roger Rabbit Ride are all "Lenny" instead of Benny. Suppousedly, this was because Imagineering was tired of getting permission for every little thing in the attraction, that they made the cabs "his twin brothers".

Regaurding the copyright on recent Jessica merchandise, I checked 2 shirts, a figurine, and a pin, and they all say [C] Disney/Amblin. Does that mean that Amblin actually owns half the character, though?

Yes, it does indicate the Disney and Amblin share ownership of Jessica, just as they do with Roger and the other "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" characters.
