Trip Report JenniferS Is Live - 9/7/16 - 9/17/16

Hi, my name is JenniferS, and I am a Disneyholic. I have been accused of being a Pixie Dust snorter. I've been accused of worse, so no biggie.

Once we get home from a Disney trip, I am always in a bit of a funk, and never really up to doing a proper trip report. For those of you who know me, I generally post live over in Chit Chat somewhere. This is my first dedicated live trip report in the actual Trip Report Thread.

The cast:
Me. JenniferS. Just turned 49. Honestly friends, I don't know how that happened. I still feel 27. But, my passport and driver's licence insist I was born in 1967, and I have two 20-something sons, so it must be true.

This is me, on my way to work this morning. All smiles, because this is my last day of work for almost two weeks!
image.jpeg

And this is Hubby. He is not on his way to work today, as he has been off work for 6 months. He is 48 years old and this is the first entire summer he has had off since he was 14. In 31 years together, this is only the second time I have seen him with a tan.

Goofy is his favourite character.

And last year, he was obsessed with this over-sized "Stitchie". There was no room in our luggage, but this year, I am determined to buy it for him, and bring it home by any means necessary. Actually, I'm just going to bring our big SouthWest duffel bag, and pay for an extra bag coming home.

This will be our first Disney trip, just the two of us, since 1992! :jawdrop:

Okay, that's the Who.
Coming up next - the Where.

One last spin on the GMR. I wish they would keep this attraction, update it, and build the new Mickey attraction elsewhere - but what do I know?

Not for sure, but given that this may be my last ride ever on this attraction, I was very excited to finally get this scene again. I swear, it's been at least 3, maybe 4 years.

This screen was blank last time we rode.

For the record, both times this week we've ridden, the right hand propeller on the plane in the "Casablanca" scene did not work.

How do we get out of here?
Follow the yellow brick road.

Our CM guide for this tour was Nicole. She was very, very good. It's been a while since we've had a really good CM on this ride.
Take a bow, Nicole. Well done.

After GMR, we headed out, stopping to use the potties at the front of the park, when all of a sudden I remembered that we had FP's.

For here:
First time on the new third track. Cool.

I did not do well. In my defence, I thought I was blue (I'm ALWAYS blue), so every time the blue ball/dart/ring landed, I thought I was doing really well. Problem is ... I was red. :(

Okay, on that less than successful note, we did actually leave the park.

Of note, we did not, in any of our three visits, ride Rock 'n Roller Coaster, Star Tours (yay!) or go to the Frozen Sing-along. Just the way things go sometimes.

And we're at MK. I think I left off on the WD railroad. This is a must for us. We only just managed to squeeze it in.

We disembarked in NFL/Storybook Circus and meandered over to Ariel. I think Hubby likes this ride. Just saying.

Let's go under the sea, shall we?

This effect blew me away the first time we saw it during the NFL dress rehearsal back in Fall 2012.

Hubby can do the Tigger laugh really well. It gets old fast. Good thing I love him.

After a few delightful hours and three Innis & Gunn's at R & C with @Monty and @wannabeBelle, we headed over to Tutto Italia for dinner. A very early dinner.

Time for somebody (not naming names here) to get some bread in him to chase those beers. :hilarious:

Bread service. We might have had a second serving.

Which means we got two of this. Hubby was in his glory, as I don't eat olives.

Shrimp Risotto as per plan.
View attachment 160393

Hubby got talked into the rack of lamb. I had one chop. It was beyond divine!

There wasn't however, a lot to it, so I promptly ordered some calamari. Again, all for him.
In JenniferS world, if it looks like an onion ring, it should be an onion ring - not battered, deep fried elastic bands.

oh my gosh, that looks delicious!

The "diving" effect wowed me when I first saw it, too. And with the burst of air it's really neat.

From here, I excitedly rode the newly reopened IaSW. I posted 20 or so pics in the actual IaSW refurb thread, but here are some.

Still some work to be done.

Our creepy hippo friend is no longer leering at every young lady who sails past.
He is neither blinking, nor winking, but just staring straight ahead. Suits me fine.

From IaSW, we rode Space Mountain one last time, and then took a spin on the PeopleMover.

Heading out, I stopped to chat with these fine fellows. I love ducks. Have I mentioned that I love ducks? Ducks are cool. Disney ducks especially.

A final shot of the painted rocks (dozens more in the actual painted rocks thread). I like them. But then again, I never liked the red ones.

I think I'm more or less caught up for the day.
For some reason, I got really over-heated today, which knocked the stuffing out of me.

No park tomorrow. Just loading up the car, and heading to Disney Springs.

I've already told Hubby to forget about breakfast at Pepper Market tomorrow. One breakfast per trip is enough for me.

As of this moment, we have 4 QS credits and 5 Snack credits left.

I'm out for tonight. Good night friends.

After seeing the comparison (and enough pictures to really form an opinion here), I don't like the purple rocks. They don't look futuristic or anything--just odd. I figure that rocks will look like rocks, even in the future. :cautious:
probably they are trying to imitate space or other planets?

Haha. That is common in some European countries. Like Belgium for example.

Never seen the numbers on them. Just that one button is bigger than the other.
The numbers are used in Mexico a lot.. 2 for.. poop, 1 for pee.
Thats when people say "darn, need to do the 1, back in a sec"

After our little train tour, we took a spin on Ariel, are now in line for Pooh, headed over to IaSW, and have FP's for Space.

Not entirely sure how longer the weather and or my heat tolerance will hold out. Time will tell.

We must have just missed you. We were back to MK at about 4:30ish and went straight to Pooh for our 5th FP. The we headed to Frontierland to see a couple of shows that are not scheduled for the rest of our trip. Then basically stayed in the area.

We beat the rain out of there. It had poured at the resort, both before we got there and after we got there, but we avoided all the rain both times.

At the Grand Flo now, and judging by the debris, it came down hard here!

Stay dry. Enjoy the Hallowe'en party tonight.

We didn't miss the rain but we trekked on like wet rats. I think the kids enjoyed it. All tuckered out. Still sleeping but not for much longer.
