Trip Report JenniferS Is Live - 9/7/16 - 9/17/16

Hi, my name is JenniferS, and I am a Disneyholic. I have been accused of being a Pixie Dust snorter. I've been accused of worse, so no biggie.

Once we get home from a Disney trip, I am always in a bit of a funk, and never really up to doing a proper trip report. For those of you who know me, I generally post live over in Chit Chat somewhere. This is my first dedicated live trip report in the actual Trip Report Thread.

The cast:
Me. JenniferS. Just turned 49. Honestly friends, I don't know how that happened. I still feel 27. But, my passport and driver's licence insist I was born in 1967, and I have two 20-something sons, so it must be true.

This is me, on my way to work this morning. All smiles, because this is my last day of work for almost two weeks!

And this is Hubby. He is not on his way to work today, as he has been off work for 6 months. He is 48 years old and this is the first entire summer he has had off since he was 14. In 31 years together, this is only the second time I have seen him with a tan.

Goofy is his favourite character.

And last year, he was obsessed with this over-sized "Stitchie". There was no room in our luggage, but this year, I am determined to buy it for him, and bring it home by any means necessary. Actually, I'm just going to bring our big SouthWest duffel bag, and pay for an extra bag coming home.

This will be our first Disney trip, just the two of us, since 1992! :jawdrop:

Okay, that's the Who.
Coming up next - the Where.

Scary looking sky. Not sure if it's coming or going.

Wow! I'm not sure if I shared this story from my trip last year or not, but I'll share it here anyway. My dad and I were resort-hopping around the MK monorail loop. We were at the Polynesian, and I kept getting texts and calls from my mom, who was back in the room at POR. She was so worried because there was super heavy winds and it was down-pouring. She had such a worried tone, telling us not to go outside anywhere and to not get stuck on a monorail. However, at the Poly it was sunny and no winds or rain. :hilarious:

That's Disney for sure.

After our travel through Space, we enjoyed one last spin on the PeopleMover (which we still call TTA), before Hubby grabbed a smoothie (raspberry this time) and I grabbed some final shots of the painted rocks.

We are now in the car, headed back to the resort to clean up for dinner - wring out our clothes, shower AGAIN, cool down, and scrounge up some clean clothes.

IaSW pics coming up.

Currently hiding under the tarps of the carpet ride.
We beat the rain out of there. It had poured at the resort, both before we got there and after we got there, but we avoided all the rain both times.

At the Grand Flo now, and judging by the debris, it came down hard here!

Stay dry. Enjoy the Hallowe'en party tonight.

No pomegranate lemonade for Hubby, so I talked him into a milkshake.

I did not need to be talked into it. ;)

There has been a decided lack of veg in my diet in the past 10 days, so I ordered the baby beet salad.
image.jpeg

Hubby of course, ordered the deep fried rubber bands.

Okay, let me finish up dinner, then I have to backtrack and wrap up the Studios (wonder if it will still be called that next year), and then finish up MK.

Yikes, am I ever behind.

Dinner first.

Surf & Turf is no longer on the menu, so Hubby also ordered the 2-lb Maine lobster.

Creme brûlée for me, of course.

Rewind to the first part of the day @ DHS.
After watching Muppets 3D, and really wishing they would get rid of the entire annoying Waldo bit, we shopped a bit.

Hubby bought this for his bro.

I bought this for my brother who collects frogs/Kermit stuff. I always get him a little something.

Happy to see this fellow still around. We have great pics of the boys hugging him over the years.
