Trip Report JenniferS Is Live - 9/7/16 - 9/17/16

Hi, my name is JenniferS, and I am a Disneyholic. I have been accused of being a Pixie Dust snorter. I've been accused of worse, so no biggie.

Once we get home from a Disney trip, I am always in a bit of a funk, and never really up to doing a proper trip report. For those of you who know me, I generally post live over in Chit Chat somewhere. This is my first dedicated live trip report in the actual Trip Report Thread.

The cast:
Me. JenniferS. Just turned 49. Honestly friends, I don't know how that happened. I still feel 27. But, my passport and driver's licence insist I was born in 1967, and I have two 20-something sons, so it must be true.

This is me, on my way to work this morning. All smiles, because this is my last day of work for almost two weeks!

And this is Hubby. He is not on his way to work today, as he has been off work for 6 months. He is 48 years old and this is the first entire summer he has had off since he was 14. In 31 years together, this is only the second time I have seen him with a tan.

Goofy is his favourite character.

And last year, he was obsessed with this over-sized "Stitchie". There was no room in our luggage, but this year, I am determined to buy it for him, and bring it home by any means necessary. Actually, I'm just going to bring our big SouthWest duffel bag, and pay for an extra bag coming home.

This will be our first Disney trip, just the two of us, since 1992! :jawdrop:

Okay, that's the Who.
Coming up next - the Where.

Random thoughts and a wrap up of some leftover photos.

Some random guy who was nice enough to pose.

You really need to watch where you step.

When Soarin' was closed all that time, they really should have replaced all the lap belts. In Puddy's video, they are pristine. In real life, they are pretty tatty, and don't recoil nicely because of their condition. Also, the yellow straps they make you tug are pretty gross.

Walking out through WS at night, they play this really beautiful song. I don't know what it's called, but if it'll help, I can hum a few bars. Anyways, there's just a feeling that always comes over me that gives me hope that just maybe mankind will make it. That maybe we'll all stop hating, killing, blaming, and judging one another ... and maybe, just maybe, we can live in peace and love and harmony.

I was a little disappointed, because I thought our Kona brekkie was tomorrow. It's not. It's Thursday.

Now, I'm a little excited because we can rest up a bit and sleep in. (Not like we haven't been doing that already.)

Yachtsman Steakhouse tomorrow for dinner. I will NOT be wrecking this meal with a late lunch. Not a chance.

That ice cream looks awesome! And so do those shots around the lake. I love those kid of water shots. I got some decent ones around the WS Lagoon last year.

I went to Ample Hills about a day or two after it opened last spring. I tried the Sally Sells Seashells ice cream and I liked the flavor, but wasn't a fan of the "salted" chocolate things that were in it. Chocolate is fine; salted chocolate in an orangey ice cream was not.

Yum, yachtsman! Now I'm looking forward to your dinner. Are you getting the truffle Mac and cheese? :hungry:

Looks like he was Keeping an eye out for someone before snatching one of those Cokes.

Heading back to the Boardwalk, I ask Hubby if he wants to take the Friendship boat. You know, 'cause my hip is killing me, and my brand new FitFlops have given me a blister.

"Let's walk", he says; like I don't know exactly what he is thinking. This is all he has talked about since yesterday.

Sally Sells Seashells. I know you're sick of this, but I only ate half. :joyfull:

Sally Sells Seashells and Strawberries & Cream.
I told you he likes ice cream.
Also, I kind of figured he had this in mind when he declined dessert at San Angel.

They're only iPhone shots, but I think they're pretty.

1) The Boardwalk area is gorgeous at night - with any camera.
2) I would like to volunteer as your official food finisher on your next trip.

One of my favorite meals on property.

They have real creme brulee.

I just meant overall, the choices are slim. I am sure you will find something.
Starring Rolls is usually a good choice, provided it's not pouring out.

The sandwiches are very good, and the cupcakes, if you like cupcakes, are reported to be delicious.

(I do not like cupcakes. Especially not Disney cupcakes. I am definitely in the minority on this one.)

The chocolate bits just tasted like chocolate bits to me. I did not discern any saltiness.

It was very good, but I just had an off-tummy. Too many Advil. I've always boasted that Advil doesn't kill my gut. Yesterday, it did. That's what I get for boasting.

And oh look, the one from the year before.
Don't know where my creme brûlée went though!

Craft beer at the Odyssey:

image.jpeg
image.jpeg

#1 - flavoured water
#2 - very nice
#3 - blueberry? vanilla? - tastes like the spicy cheese sauce

image.jpeg

image.jpeg

#1 - lemon water
#2 - tastes like home brew/Sam Adams - good
#3 - "have a sip". NO! "tastes like carbonated Bailey's"

Final verdict 2-2 was the best. 1-3 was best dark beer.
image.jpeg

I ate the little tiny piece of sausage that you can't see under the crostini. It was tasty. Hubby ate the rest of this.

image.jpeg

One each. I had the bigger piece. Excellent.

image.jpg

Holy jumping - this had a kick. Too much of a kick for me. Once my water was done, so was I.
Hubby says it was "delightful, just a little spicy. Needed more bread/ more beer."
