Trip Report JenniferS Is Live - 9/7/16 - 9/17/16

Hi, my name is JenniferS, and I am a Disneyholic. I have been accused of being a Pixie Dust snorter. I've been accused of worse, so no biggie.

Once we get home from a Disney trip, I am always in a bit of a funk, and never really up to doing a proper trip report. For those of you who know me, I generally post live over in Chit Chat somewhere. This is my first dedicated live trip report in the actual Trip Report Thread.

The cast:
Me. JenniferS. Just turned 49. Honestly friends, I don't know how that happened. I still feel 27. But, my passport and driver's licence insist I was born in 1967, and I have two 20-something sons, so it must be true.

This is me, on my way to work this morning. All smiles, because this is my last day of work for almost two weeks!

And this is Hubby. He is not on his way to work today, as he has been off work for 6 months. He is 48 years old and this is the first entire summer he has had off since he was 14. In 31 years together, this is only the second time I have seen him with a tan.

Goofy is his favourite character.

And last year, he was obsessed with this over-sized "Stitchie". There was no room in our luggage, but this year, I am determined to buy it for him, and bring it home by any means necessary. Actually, I'm just going to bring our big SouthWest duffel bag, and pay for an extra bag coming home.

This will be our first Disney trip, just the two of us, since 1992! :jawdrop:

Okay, that's the Who.
Coming up next - the Where.

The sundae for Hubby:

As you have learned, he likes ice cream.

I got the creme brûlée, of course.
I don't eat berries, so I gave them to Hubby.
He complained that the chocolate is part of the berries and should have been included in the deal.

I ate that chocolate first - come and get it.

Really, he should stop complaining, I left almost half of my dessert for him.

Lunch:

All boxed up, hopefully to make a safe journey home.

Two shirts. I wouldn't be surprised if he picked up a third tonight. At $30/per, he passed on the hats.

Off to swim for a bit.

I'm jealous of the figment trash can s&p shaker. I was planning to buy one on the shop parks app this morning but didn't get around to looking until this afternoon and it was out of stock. I'll keep watching and maybe they will put more back up. It is pretty cool though.

I enjoyed your Yachtsman pictures. I have been thinking about it all day. I think I need to buy some good rib eye steaks at the store and try to recreate the onion pull aparts and pretend I'm at the Yachtsman this weekend.

And, @JenniferS , too, I'd like to try and recreate the creme brulee. (I wonder if there's a mix for that, maybe in the Jello section of the supermarket? o_O ) But to the fun part--can't you all just see me with one of those fire blow torches in the kitchen, attempting to carmelize the top of the dessert?! :p

He really, really likes Ample Hills. I knew he would.

That's ooey gooey butter cake on the bottom, and you guessed it, strawberries and cream on top.

I gave it all a pass. Seriously, I don't know where he puts it.

No blow torch for you Minnie! And I don't like there is a Jello mix for the creme brulee. Although making custard isn't too difficult to do from scratch.

I laughed when I saw this. I wondered how he still had room after dinner at the Yachtsman! When we ate there we were stuffed for the night. Although ice cream does sound good right now....I must not get up and visit the freezer.

Going to miss this attraction. So immersive....well until they added the human time travelers.
UOE (pre-Ellen) was the very first attraction I'd ever ridden on Disney soil. Seeing those lifelike dino's is something I'll never forget. Also considering this was around the time we learned about dinosaurs in kindergarten. Yeah, pretty special memories.

Love the pics, @JenniferS , and the way you paid tribute to this Epcot classic attraction, especially in the dino room. It will be missed.

The steak looks amazing! We've had this particular meal once and it was SO GOOD!

I see on the menu that it includes "beef fat potatoes." Are the potatoes in one of the pictures?
Just on my plate, I think.
They were just a mini potato, fork smashed, drizzled in butter. Very simple. Very tasty.

Barely visible at the very top of this pic, in front of the lemonade.

$35.00 and it's not even valet.
For 35 bucks, I'm expecting Jack Sparrow himself to pick me up, and for my car to come back with an oil change.

So now the water is outside instead of inside. Still works for me.

It's a different view for sure, but it's still a whole lot better than the view I wake up to every morning.

The Big Kahuna.

Macadamia nut pancakes. With bacon.

I'm not allergic or anything, but I like the pineapple and butter on the side.
image.jpeg

Call me stuffed! Usually I only eat 1 1/2 of the pancakes. Today, I ate two.
Time to waddle off to MK, after I finish my coffee and water.
