Jammin Jungle closing in June

I would also expect that with all the time they had to plan out the Avatar work, fitting the parade into the spacing equation could have been accomplished....

Not with the demands made by Zsolt Hormay.

I just made that up, but I love the name Zsolt Hormay and will continue to drop it at every opportunity.

So, what's the new Animal Kingdom parade? Color me excited, I LOVE a new parade. Jammin Jungle had a good run, but I for one, can't wait to see what the new parade will be. Anyone have any details?

Any at all?

Bueller?

I think as you sussed out, no one is certain whether there will be any short or long-term replacement. I suppose you could view the announced plans as replacements, but odds are, nothing will be done by June. Short answer: This area is rife for rumor-mongering and you should use this opportunity to make yourself an "insider". Make sure you come up with a good name for the replacement parade.

Discovery Island will have a construction wall making the vehicles unable to pass.
Which I supposed has to do with the kangaroos.

Well I guess we will see what happens when it is all done. Joe Rhode did an amazing job theming this park from day one and I hope he does not let it go the way DHS has over the past 10 years in losing it's direction.

This seemed to get blazed right past, and I want to see if we can expand on it a little.

For those in the know, where in DAK were the parade vehicles stored, what was the route from storage out to the parade route?

IF this is cut because they are about to start heavy-deep-and-real construction on Pandora, and IF they are planning on adding something to replace it (I smell a few more dance parties coming on!), then it softens the blow just a touch. Which is ok, because just a touch is about how much I cared about this parade. Never made it a point to catch it, but always enjoyed it when I ran into it at the end of the day. Just enough to be sad that it was going away, but not enough to pull my pitchfork and torch out of storage.

I keep my torch lit and my pitchfork at the ready. So many pitchfork related accidents....But, better to be prepared I always say.

You know, it's your beloved AvatarLand that's causing this entire debacle. Long live Beastly Kingdom!!!!

Taking something away without debuting something of equal or greater value in its place is a cut. Rumors, hearsay and "hope" about a new attraction or show coming months or years down the road do not qualify as a replacement or as justification for actions like this. Any way you slice it, the elimination of Jammin' Jungle is a CUT, in a park that really cannot afford to eliminate ANY shows or attractions.

But hey, I'm sure there's going to be one amazing dance party this summer at AK (and no, that would not count as an acceptable replacement for this parade).

Why is WDW so dependent on shows and entertainment anyways?

Disneyland is very ride intensive and has very little shows. Their times guide is more a suggestion booklet as to what rides to visit.

Sure, a show or two a day is great, but when shows outnumber rides in your parks 2-1, is it really worth nearly $100 a day?
Disneyland has shows big & small all over the park...their times guide is even more elaborate

I'm good with this as well !!! AK is to narrow for parades. With any luck the night time events they have in store will be something like a fantasmic. A show with its own area, no parades I hope.

Meh I never cared for the parade in the first place...there are still rumors the nighttime show could debut later in the Summer also

When our daughter was 5 yrs old we told her we were going to wait for the parade. She said, 'No, let's go on the rides while everyone's busy watching the parade!' I'll bet there are still a lot of children who feel that way :)

My impression has always been that the Disneyland Resort parks have both more attractions and more live entertainment than the Walt Disney World parks, especially in regards to live music. Walt Disney World is just more dependent on entertainment because the parks are not as built out.

This is the same company that could not coordinate the closing of the Festival of the Lion King theater with the opening of the new theater. A closure for a few weeks to set up and rehearse in the new space would have been a shining example of the Disney Difference not months later because major construction was still ongoing.

Like what? Aladdin, Fantasmic, SW, Tomorrowland Dance Party, World of Color (WWhich doesn't really use entertainment cast) and the parade.

How does that even compare to Mermaid, BatB, Indy, Mulch, LMA, Star Wars, Fantasmic and Idol?

That is far to much shows to make an enjoyable day.

Are they reusing any of the existing infrastructure in the new show? Props, sets, seats, sound, etc?
If so, then I can see why they didn't have the new one ready when the old one closed. If they are not (and I don't know at all one way or another), then it's a pretty blatant case against the recycling message of the park to create a whole new production when other parts might be able to be saved and reused.

couldn't is different than didn't
