Last weekend attendees of the second annual Disney Social Media Moms Conference were treated to a fantastic experience in way of a dinner/dance party presented by Disney Junior on the set of ‘Lights, Motor, Action’ at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Jake from ‘Jake and the Neverland Pirates’ made his onstage debut at the event.

At this time, there are no known plans for Jake to be greeting park guests on a regular basis, but it’s always a possibility that he may become available for meet & greets as early as April/May when there is traditionally a significant change in Disney character appearances.

========

Today, I received more information on a Jake Meet-and-Greets from "Disney Junior" on their Facebook page in to my question about future Jake Meet-and-Greets.

Disney Junior - "Jake will be joining the Disney Junior Live On Stage meet and greets soon! Thanks for being a fan!""

========

It sounds like this will be happening soon as they appear to have the charater ready based upon his appearance last weekend. Between Disney's quick enclusion of "Jake and the Neverland Pirates" in the new Disney Junior Live on Stage show and rapid popularity of the show, it would seem to make sense that Jake will be meeting soon.

I'll just say my 3YO daughter goes coo-coo-bananas for Jake. Can't get enough of the show. If we have the opportunity to do an M&G with Jake and the crew, she'll love it.

Jake also showed up during the Kaboom/Disney VoluntEARS playground build last week, and met and greeted with the kids at the daycare.

Yay! This is wonderful news, hope he is there for our August trip. We all love this new show! My DS would go nuts if Hook and Smee were out there with him! Fingers crossed that he is included!!

Is Jake really that popular? I've seen a few episodes, but I've never heard anything about the show. I myself don't get it... They're kids in Neverland, but they're not Lost Boys/Girls... They're pirates, but they're friends with Peter and Tink, and enemies of Hook? But maybe I'm just over analyzing a show meant for little tykes. :lol: Beyond the things that confused me, it was cute enough.

Ooooh...my two year old son is going to go mental for this - he LOVES Jake and the Neverland Pirates. AND we passed the character test last saturday - he was excited to see Chip & Dale "HEY! SQUIRREL!! HI!!!!" and Stitch at the Tomorrowland dance party fiasco. No crying, no melt down - just happiness! :)

This is the attitude I try to take when I watch it with my kid. They are "Pirates" that live on "Pirate Island", which seems to be close to Neverland. They seem to be pirates in name only, as the show follows the pattern of:
1) Kids are doing something by themselves, like playing Basketball on Pirate Island
2) Hook sees them doing this and decides to steal their thing (Basketball, etc)
3) Kids take their boat to Neverland to try and retrieve the thing. They have to generally look at a mdp and find a path, which involves hopping over one thing or another. Gold Doubloons appear out of nowhere when they naviagate whatever obstacle is in their way.
4) They use thier special pouch of Pixie Dust that Tink gave them "only for emergencies" which allows them to fly themselves or the thing away from Hook and back to Pirate Island. This seems to always be the final solution to getting their thing back / away from Hook, every time.
5) They head back to Pirate Island and put their gold doubloons in their treasure chest.

It is more formulaic than any other show I've seen on Playhouse / Disney Junior, and they have some pretty formulaic programming! But seriously, my kid goes crazy for it. She's learned the songs they sing each episode, has a little bag she wears of "pixie dust" that she pretends to sprinkle all over, and generally does not want to miss a single episode. Maybe I've seen one too many Oso or Manny episodes, but I tend to find it more palatable than most of their other stuff.

Just yesterday I had a Guest ask me if there way anywhere they could meet Jake. I told her, "Sorry, not yet." (It's like Phineas & Ferb all over again)

Once guests find out he made an appearance I bet they'll be getting more of those requests.

A little OT but my kids have been asking about Jake and the Neverland Pirates (I think they're seen ads) but I can't find the show anywhere.

We have the Family Channel and it doesn't come on during the Playhouse Disney programming and we have the actual Playhouse Disney Channel and I haven't seen it there. I even searched for the show in my guide and nothing came up that matched that title!?!

I thought Playhouse Disney was being converted into Disney Junior!?! Our channel still says Playhouse Disney!?!

I live in Canada... so would that make a difference!?! :shrug:

Sorry Canada, you'll have to wait until May 6, 2011 for Disney Junior to launch.

My son loves it, too. For me, it actually fixes the Disney-verse logic hole of "when we watch POTC, we root for the pirates; when we watch Peter Pan, we fight the pirates." We have learned from the POTC movies that there are many different shades of pirates and these are just some of the nicer ones.

Yes, that sums it up re pirates!!! Couldn't have said it better. When we went to Disney earlier this month, my 4 year old wanted nothing to do with the BBB, we went to the Pirates League. We had to bring her her own pirate costume, because the one that the Pirates League sells is pink, and apparently that is not except able for a pirate, although she wears a pink Aurora dress all the time.

Hopefully, all goes well with the Jake m&g and we get to see him when we visit in October.

I can vouch for the popularity of this show!!! I work with the young children in a very large church, and I've been hearing from ALL of the parents how that their kids are LOVING Jake and the Neverland Pirates! This makes me happy, because I also LOVE it!! ANYTHING that gives me more Hook, Smee, and Neverland makes me one happy Disney Nut!!!
