Jacksonville to Orlando///HELP

MY AP expires on Sunday and I was thinking of doing a last minute deal off Delta's website to go to Disney one more time. It doesn't make sense to renew my AP because I won't be going again until December. The only deal available is to Jacksonville, Fl, does anyone know how long it takes to drive from Jacksonville to WDW?

I know I am crazy to consider this but .....it might be fun.

It's only a bad drive when you get to Orlando, but that would still be true if you were driving from the Orlando airport, too. ;) It's an easy drive; exit the airport, hop on 95 south, then take I-4 just after Daytona. Take the correct exit for your hotel.

If you're hitting Orlando anytime around rush hour (3-6) I would allow 3 hours or more. Last time, at a quiet time, it took me a little over two hours. However, it's taken me almost 4 if I'm travelling in the evening!!! (there was an accident on I-4)

The FHP is ticketing like crazy...gave out 118 tickets in 5 hours yesterday; averaging one every three minutes ...in the construction zone just south of Jacksonville. (It's a 40 mile stretch) I've gone down to WDW in the past during the 500, and the traffic wasn't that bad, EXCEPT on the first and last days...the rest of the time, people tend to stay in Daytona and not on the Interstate too much.

March traditionally has the highest traffic volume, and most fatalities, on this stretch of road. (The stretch between Jax and I-4) per today's newspaper article.

Meega, nala kwishta!
We drove from PA to Orlando last year, and stayed overnight in Jacksonville on the way down. Took us about 2.5 hours for the Jacksonville to Orlando leg of the trip. We even stoped to see the Ocean in Daytona.

It's a nice drive, and the only traffic we had was leaving Jacksonville, and going through Orlando to get to Disney. The rest of the trip was smooth driving. This was last October.

Have fun!

Thanks all of you....that's not bad at all. I appreciate your responses and will keep them in mind. My mom's pneumonia has worsened overnight and both my brothers and their families live out of state so long story short I can't go. Now that I know Delta offers those fairly cheap trips with a rental car though I may just renew my AP and start making more trips. :)

If the Disney admission is covered with the AP anything is possible. Thanks for all your help and advice.
