Don't know about the last part, but the first point is dead on. It's weird how the attraction seems designed for a completely different audience then are (should be?) fans of the films it's based on. I LOVE the Pirates films but didn't care for this attraction. Felt kinda juvenile and, yeah, like a preshow to nowhere.
