It's gonna make you think

When I used to visit in early fall after all the kids were back in school and the crowds were smaller, I saw tons of lizards. I think the large crowds during the summer(and kids harassing them) tend to force them into hiding during the day in the parks. Every once in a while I'll see one during the summer months scurrying along a rock or fence here and there in the parks. But for the most part they're hiding from the crowds.

So I just got back from WDW a couple hours ago and survived the crowds at all 4 parks. My father-in-law posed a question for me- have you ever seen a lizard in the theme parks. Now I've never really paid attention, and being a passholder that only lives 40 minutes away, we go quite often. But as I looked around this weekend I realized he was right. Not once did I see a lizard. Not on the rocks at thunder mountain, not climbing the trees in animal kingdom. So next time you are in the parks-look around. You may be surprised.

Sure did in Epcot and AK.. as well as the resorts..

Saw plenty of lizards in the parks.

Once saw a nice sized black snake near the bathrooms across from Flame Tree BBQ.

Nah, I dont think so. They're not going to be in highly populated areas just crossing the walk ways. If you sit next to some plants/garden areas, Im sure you'll see them : ) I dont think Disney would kill the lizards for the sake of keeping them from the parks.

Not kill, unless they did something harmful, but there might be measures in place to keep them away.

Anyway, I know a lot of Americans haven't been to Cuba, but when I went they were scurrying over the sidewalks and stuff at the resort. Not a big deal, they are scared straight of humans so they leave you alone. It is just that they gravitate to warm climates and when there isn't any snow around all year they'll stay there. I guess up here in Canada we don't have them but we make up for it by having Deer, Moose, Bears, etc. in the colder climates. I'll say one thing, at least a lizard won't total your car if you hit it on the highway.

Living in Florida, my kids used to catch them and let them bite onto their ears. They would walk around for a few minutes with lizard earrings then let them go on their merry way.
