-If you make a doll through the website, it'll add $1 to the UNICEF fund.

So if nothing else, do that. Make Disney pay up.

My doll's name is Barf. :)
Where did this idea of the children in "it's a small world" being dolls come from? It makes no sense to me. The whole premise is that it is the children of the world singing a prayer for peace. In the tableau they have created we see some of their toys being used as part of the sets.

STOP MAKING SENSE YOU'RE MAKING DISNEY LOOK BAD.

But yes, in the ride the 'dolls' are children. I'm guessing they want the 'dolls' tie in to the merchandise dolls at the Disney Store.

That shirt seriously makes me want to ding my head off a brick wall.

Who came up with that? I still. I cant. Why on earth would anyone use "conquer" regarding a ride that's suppose to be about anything but?

No. Just... no.

:banghead:

Because it's a joke. It's a lighthearted take on the other "conquered" shirts. It's funny.

While I have plenty of criticism for Disney, including my comment above about the marketing lackeys who made the anniversary logo without noticing the no-capitals in the title, I can say that this T-shirt was done right. It's funny.

It is a term associated with war juxtaposed with a call for peace. "It's a small world" is one of the most serious of Disney's attractions and that seriousness should be respected by Disney.

It's one of the more amusing shirts Disney has put out there in recent years.

Then it's an ill placed amusing, joking style of design.

Precisely it. It has a negative connotation for a light hearted ride about world peace.

The conceit of the attraction from what I understand it now is that it's a gigantic children's art project about world peace. And the figures have been referred to as dolls for years now and the ride in general is full of a toy aesthetic.

A project in which the children partake. As I said, there are elements clearly toys and have a different design than the children.

I don't think they lied. I've been on IASW with the Disney characters incorporated several times and they don't distract from the ride IMO. They also aren't all front and center. If you don't know who a character is you would just think it was a regular IASW doll.
Before the uproar, the version at Hong Kong Disneyland was described as a game of hide and seek. You're supposed to seek them out. If they were truly intended to not distract they'd have no purpose and not be there.

EXCEPT the scene with Disney characters that live under water. Poorly done.
