While it's not completely "parks related", it's definitely "WDW News".

I figured most would be interested to see new paperwork has been filed for the building next to the contemporary. These docs show it to be called "The Villas at the Contemporary Resort", along with sample point values, room diagrams, layouts, etc...

http://or.occompt.com/recorder/eagl...S21983&id=DOC293S21983.A0&docName=20080532595

There was some debate as to whether this new building was going to be used for central reservations, or for DVC... This pretty much puts that to rest. And now that it's completely public, I would bet an "official" roll out from Disney is just days away. Disney's fiscal year begins Oct. 1... I'm betting sales in this property will start that day, or very very soon after.

DISCLAIMER... I didn't find this. It was found and posted over at mouseowners (one of the best DVC-centric sites I've ever been to).

***EDIT: Linkie fixie. :)

The paperwork has been on the web for awhile (there was a link a few weeks back). Plus when we got our '09 points book last month, the Contemporary (with Tower) was already listed along with point values. Last we heard the rooms will open for use before they start to sell them (looking to launch sales at the same time as either Grand Californian or the Hawaii Resort). From our source right now their big sales focus is the AKL so that the inventory is as low as possible before the new 3 are rolled out.

A few things...

1. This isn't the same filing as was found months ago. This is a new filing that came in on 9-08. And it's the "master declaration of covenants"... Basically the final step, and making it completely public. The important part about that is that once DVC guides know about a project, they HAVE to tell you about it. Right now, they're not saying a word. This public declaration means that's all about to change.

2. This is ABSOLUTELY the first time I've heard that an 09 points book has Contemporary points charts in them. If that's true, that's HUGE news... And I'm sure WAY more than just myself would love to get the details of that table. Lots of people are hinging their plans for DVC based on those numbers!! Any chance you feel like sharing with the class?

3. Of course they're going to sell points before the rooms are open!! That's the Disney Way! Expect new buyers to get developer's points at other resorts to tide them over till the building actually opens.

But WOW, if you can share the info in the 09 points book, that would be HUGE.

Any chance of a scan of that page in the book? THanks

I got an '09 point book from Doorway to Dreams at the Woodfield Mall, and there most certainly is NOT any mention of the Contemporary DVC. The only mentioning of the Contemporary is the points required to stay in "Non-DVC", just like every other resort...

Thanks for passing the link along here!

I'm pretty sure that's what they're looking at in the book. There are probably different point values to stay at the original tower as well as the existing garden wing.

I havent got my new DVC Vacation Planner book either. I hope it comes soon. Has Saratoga Springs sold out yet? Or will they be selling SS, AKLV, and Contemporary Villas all at the same time?

It looks to have a neat pool area, if they stay with the last drawing. I'm guessing that the Mickey head will be a kiddie pool, as the bigger pool has the slide going into it. This drawing has the name of Bay Lake Resort and dated 4-18-08. I prefer the name The Villas at Disney's Contemporary Resort, over Bay Lake.

Don't worry, you aren't, the Cast Members are!

I think it says Bay Lake Tower, doesn't it? I'm guessing they will probably use both terminology, although I don't see any reason why they couldn't say The Villas Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort. Bay Lake Tower will just be the name of that actual section of the Resort, just like Kidani Village is the new DVC building at Animal Kingdom Lodge. Personally, I would love to see a throwback and name it the Lakeside or Bayshore Tower like the Garden Wings used to be called.

This is all assuming that the new building is DVC, of course. :hammer:

At least it doesn't say "Kingdom Tower". :hurl:
