It’s Raining Pixie Dust!! Full Trip report 9/3-9/10

Don’t be sad that it is over- be glad that it happened!

The cast - for those that didn’t read my pre-trip report, or my pitiful attempt at a live one.

Me- Disneyshe
My husband DisneyB

This was our second ever trip without either of the kids.

We always have loved to go to WDW on our anniversary but this was the only trip we were by ourselves. Our actual anniversary was a few days before we left but this was still our Anniversary trip. We have been married 26 years this year!

We booked a standard room at Coronado Springs with free dining-

We headed out around 8:30 pm on September 2, because I am a horrible rider. Seriously am probably worse than a 2 year old. I just hate being in a car and always have. It makes it much easier on not just me but also my husband because he doesn’t have to hear me complain for 8 hours. He sleeps during the day on the day we leave and I at night so we can go straight at it when we get there.

We usually get there right as the sun is coming up but we got there a little early. I had ridden down in pj bottoms, no makeup etc. because I was going to try and sleep. (Which I did, almost the whole way, a first for me) Anyway I was so hoping there was a room ready because I looked like I slept in a car for sure. I stayed in the car while hubby went to see if we could check in- I had told him any section I did not care, if one was available. So he calls and tells me that they have a King Preferred room in Casitas 1, I of course, said take it.

We had never stayed in the Casitas before because we liked the Cabana area so much and usually requested it. So we drive around and go to our room on the second floor. Scan the band and walk in...... to a Living room!

I had looked at the rooms many times, we would have chosen there over Old Key West last year but it wasn’t available with the free dining and a 1 br Villa was a good bit cheaper anyway.

I wish there could have been a hidden camera or something because I thought we had went into the wrong room number. I even said this isn’t right, how could our bands have opened this door. The TVs were on too, and it just threw me even more. I tipped toed around to the bed area, hand over my mouth almost afraid someone was going to yell at me for being in their room. Looked again at the room number on the map- then flat out started bawling!! This was our room!!! We have gotten upgraded from standard view to waterview before but this was nuts. Disney B said no wonder the lady that had checked us in was grinning so big. I don’t know if it was Anniversary pixie dust or luck being so early, or just a really special CM but the trip was off to an amazing start and I will never forget how awesome it felt to stand there in a room that nice that we were basically gifted with. I was and will always be so thankful for the enormous sprinkling of Pixie Dust!

Arrival shot - notice last year’s Lei from Ohana still hanging over my visor?

The room-rooms are huge! It was so nice to have 2 bathrooms no waiting while one showers gets ready. I loved that!

See those happy smiling faces kicked back on our couch?? :)

It was still so early so I showered and got ready to head to DHS!

I was 12, maybe 13, in 1986, when Don’t Forget me When I’m Gone- came out. The only song I knew but I could still sing every word. Great voice, he looks a little different, but so do I. 😬

No, I didn’t. I honestly feel like some of it has to be tied to inflammation. I have RA and I also have Psoriasis. When those two flare my stomach issues are way worse. I am afraid of most of the meds that are used because of my family history of heart disease, and my high BP. I have put off doing more tests because of having the grand baby so much and to be honest I have major white coat syndrome. I am going the end of this month though and will agree to the extra tests if I need to. If I eat real flour more than just a little though, I will be bloated and looking for a bathroom. 😐 So I think they were right about the gluten sensitivity. I have to say that the dumplings were worth it though. I only had them the first time though!
Good luck with that. The good thing is they can diagnose this so much easier than they could in the past. I need to learn a bit more about the difference between being allergic & having a sensitivity. My mom & sister both get so sick if they take in any gluten--it's awful. I will say they both have been to Disney & always had great meals & never once had any cross contamination.
But time to go see a little Progress. I would be so mad if this ever leaves. I adore it.
That's my favorite!!

We had parked at MK so we took the monorail back to MK. I had hoped to make it back pop in at the train station to see HEA, but the long walk back thru a very rowdy and hammered WS did not work out for that. :( Everybody wasn’t overindulging but there were enough that were that it made it chaos. I hate F&W at night.
When we finally made it back to the parking lot at TTC, I asked DH what aisle. He always takes a picture. Ya, well he didn’t. What felt like 45 minutes later after walking the entire Simba lot.... he finally found it. I just stopped and waited in the middle lol. I could not walk anymore. For whatever reason, it struck me as hilarious though and I was doubled over in a giggle fit videoing and sending to our son, as he said see this wouldn’t have happened if I was there.

We needed to burn up some counter service credits since we had been snacking at F & W so much so Brat went and got breakfast from Pepper Market while I got ready.

Then back to MK! The longest wait we did this trip was for Jungle Cruise, and it was the 25 minutes posted. I had not done it in a few years though so we waited.

While we were in line I had every reason I am petrified of drinking out of water fountains confirmed.
A family with 3 kids, all way old enough to know better we’re playing in the fountain. Rubbing their fingers all over the spout not just in the water - and throwing water on each other. The parents thought it was cute... it wasn’t. I would thirst to death before I would drink out of a water fountain. 😣

We headed to Big Thunder which was at 15 minutes. It was 10.

Hooray for Hollywood!!!
(What’s left of it) I miss the Great Movie Ride but so glad they didn’t touch the outside. After waiting so long for that dang hat to be taken down to get a pic again I would have been totally ticked.

We used our FP for ToT and RnRC then went for lunch here. I had boycotted it since Pizza Planet shut down. Yes, the food was bad and it was loud and crazy but it was Pizza Planet!!! The changes are cute. I love the Muppets but I am still sad they did not put a Pizza Planet in Toy Story Land. :(

I can’t for the life of me understand why they have the cutest Rizzo holding him and at the registers and he is not for sale?!?!?!?! They said that so many people had asked that they are telling management people are requesting it. I wanted that Rizzo for my baby!

I headed upstairs to use the bathroom and find our seat. Brat knew where to find me. The same place we sat every trip since 98. I text my boy a picture to let him know Momma still got his table.

I got the salad, which was great, way better than Pizza Planet offered.

Brat got Meat lovers Pizza. He said it was the same quality as Pizza Planet but he did not care for the sausage. He wished he had just gotten Pepperoni.

It was dead here. And quiet. I did not like the quiet, not here. I missed the noise and the memories of the kids playing the games. It made my heart a little sad, but I reminded myself of all the wonderful memories I have been able to make. Don’t be sad, it is over, be happy that it happened. ❤️

We rode Star Tours again but first I had another prize I had to get my babies. Got my big boy the Party Animal Muppet hat, and my little boy this. He only had a baby Kermit.

Brat wasn’t so much of a Brat except beating me at games. ;) He did carry my pink bag for me.

Had to stop and see One Man’s Dream, what is left.
They were showing the Walt film though! Heard that after I already got in line to meet these guys.

Star Lord is pretty hilarious! I am a huge Marvel fan and we were both telling him we thought he had the better plan. He was like, See! Thank you lol..

So tickled to see this

And these... I loved Saving Mr. Banks. I remember thinking Tom Hanks as Walt Disney, no way. He totally pulled it off though, I thought. Amazing actor. Of course I love the Sherman Brothers!

Pouring the rain here and bored so reliving my memories via trip report posting before I get my baby in the morning.

We still had time to kill before our FP for Slinky so we headed to the Brown Derby Lounge for a drink.
My favorite bartender was there! If you have never talked to Orlando, you are missing out. He makes a dang good drink and just one of those cast members that are a pleasure to talk to. Last year his tag had fallen off but I remembered him, and when he warned me the Derby Cosmo was stout, I told him he told me that last year, and I got two more. ;) Last year he made a couple of drinks for my son, (Disney trips change, don’t they?) but he said if you get a drink from Orlando, tell him hello and I will see him next year. I had to get a pic to send him. I totally wasn’t ready, and look horrid, but had to post. Love this guy, Disney CMs, at their very best!

I loved this ride!! From the Slinky cars to the ride details, the ride itself, everything. It is a family ride not a thrill ride, but it is fun family ride that everyone can enjoy.

I loved all of Toy Story Land, the details are so cute I think. I adore Toy Story though so to me this was great. It is a “Disney” Land. Pandora doesn’t do it for me, other than FoP. I think Star Wars Land will be amazing, but this to me is Disney. I know a lot of people have complained about lack of shade and I do agree with that- but overall, I loved the entire addition. I just wish that Pizza Planet had been included and Al’s Toy Barn for merchandise. They dropped the ball there, but that is the only place I can complain. Wish we could have seen it at night but Late November- December isn’t that far away. ;)

Cropped this photo, to show my fave detail. Al’s Toy Barn sticker, 19.95- the year it came out! ❤️ And 11-22

We wandered back around, talking and saying how much we both loved this ride, and I had one one more goal.. I had not yet said hello to Mickey, and it had been a long time since I saw Sorcerer Mickey.

Side note- a lot of cms asked how we made it 26 years. (We have been together, since 16 & 18, married at 19 & 21)
We still like each other, that seems silly to say, but life throws all kinds of stuff at you over the years. At the end of the day, he is still that boy, that drew me a Mickey on date 1, he still makes my heart go pitter patter, and he still writes me notes, that say to my Disney Princess. He was, is, and will always be my Prince Charming. He never cares to indulge in my Disney addiction. Or just being my best friend, I am a lucky, lucky girl. ❤️ ❤️
Mickey isn’t too shabby either, he is a charmer. ;)

After we chatted with Mickey and Minnie, we headed out to go change and freshen up for dinner. Original plans were late dinner at Coral Reef but after the past couple of nights with the F & W, I didn’t want to go, instead we decided to eat at Maya Grill. I love this place and I think it is underrated. It was dead. All of Coronado felt dead until the morning we left. Some sort of convention I think.
Anywho, Brat ordered a Corona and I ordered the Margarita Flight. He had a couple of them, but not the Jalapeño or Basil Blueberry. They are too good to share.

I got a big Jalapeño Margarita. ( I would regret that in the middle of the night when I woke up with horrid heartburn)

They brought this wonderful smelling bread. 😑

And the Queso Dip which was devine just on a spoon.

I ordered the Maya Fajita Skillet, it was delicious and cooked perfectly but I had to take half of to the room because I ate so much Queso. This is huge btw, tons of food.

Brat ordered the New York Strip- He said it was perfect. Neither of us could handle dessert and I didn’t want to waste it so we skipped it.

Forgot to post these of the cool flower Mousekeeping left for us on the bed. It was so pretty, I very carefully carried it to the living room area dresser tv table thingie. They also left me a thank you for my thank you and tip. Thought that was very nice. I kept it for my kazillion Disney scraps and bits from trips.

Plans for Sep 8th, was to take the monorail to Epcot, use snack credits at F & W and take monorail back to TTC, walk to Ohana and then stay for HEA, since I missed it a few nights ago.

So we parked, took monorail, and then headed to WS, to snack. Brat wanted more Piggy Wings, and I wanted the Scallops from Wine & Dine Studio, I forgot pics of the thousandth Piggy Wings but did snap the Scallops. They were cooked to perfection. Seared but not over cooked. I have decided that I do not care for Truffle anything tho, I just ate the Scallops and gave him the mushrooms and truffled celery root.
Bought one of the trays and never used it but this day- but wanted at least a picture of it. 😂 It has made a great snack tray for little fella.

I earlier got this... and why I do not know why. I make some pretty mean crab cakes, (not to toot my own horn, but toot, toot) 😬 and the only one I have ever got that I liked was the one Brown Derby served as an appetizer years ago. A good crab cake doesn’t even need mayo, and if it has it, it should not taste like mayo and crab only. This was disgusting. I am sorry, but it was. It was cold slaw consistency watery mayo and barely even cooked.
BDB9FB3E-6225-4CFB-BF1D-665FC92B8148.jpeg

It even looks nasty in the picture. 🤢

We then went to Mexico, where Brat got the Shrimp Quesidilla and I got a Coocnut Margarita from the QS.
He liked the shrimp, the Margarita was good but really sweet.

Going to be honest here, we didn’t take a lot more pics. I know we rode SE, and Figgy, I know I sat and chilled and called my mom, and shopped- other than I do not know. We did hop monorail back And walked to the Poly.

Looking at pictures of drinks held in Brat’s hand, I cannot help but get tickled. They look so small, my tiny hands have to hold them with both hands. The Lapu Lapu is huge, and he makes it look tiny. At my photo limit will post it next post. 😂

I had to go to the bathroom and he went to check in, when I came out, I stood at the rail, saw him, and text, Hey, you from out of town. (Night at the Roxbury) we love movies and quote stuff to each other as a family all the time. We took pics of each other being goofy.

Could he eat it all? After eating Lord only knows how many shrimp?

He did!

We wandered around the outside of the Poly for a bit and I thought hey, since we didn’t do Trader Sams. (I like going in) I can at least get a drink. I wanted something I had not tried. So I got this.
The Shrunken Head thing...

Yuck! It tasted like licorice. I tried 2 sips then threw it away. 🤢

We decided to do something we had never done before and took the boat from the Poly to MK.

MK was packed!! I don’t think the waits were terrible like they can be. I had made a fp for HM so we headed there so we didn’t wait long but they were way overfilling the stretching room, which leads to bottle necking squeezing through. People have no idea what to do here. Sweaty people bumping all the way into you the whole inching crawl through. I hate that. I love this ride though one of my absolute favorites that I have to do as much as I can.

We came out and walked up the bridge to see how Big Thunder and Splash were.

Ya, it had been an amazing trip so far and I was not going to blow it my being stuck in the kind of exit crowd I figured HEA was going to have...
so we said See Ya Real Soon to MK for this trip and went back to relax at the resort.

Still love this show, and still always jump and squeal with the bee stings you in the back. No matter how many times I am not ready for it and the anticipation sets me off into a giggle fit.

Walked around and took a few pics. Then, even though it was early I got my last Harambe Cooler from Bob. It is a tradition.

I'm in! This seems like such a great trip so far! how wonderful that you got a room upgrade!
I have been following your report too while posting mine. So cool that we both got upgrades. ;) September must have been the month for that. It was kinda funny that the year we got such a big upgrade, we didn’t need the extra space. It did not stop us from enjoying it though. We always only had 1 bathroom though, even at OKW. My son was happy we got it but kinda miffed that it came one of two trips he wasn’t with us.
