It’s All About the Baby! A Gigi & Papaw take the Grandbaby Trip Report- 11-25-11-30

We just got back last night, but I am so excited to start this trip report.

At the last minute, his mom decided to let him go with us so we basically changed everything.

And it was Amazing!

I was born a Disney lover, I think- but it was taking my son the first time (my first trip too) that solidified the almost insane degree of love I have for it. The baby has been, last year, but he was so much smaller, this was just at that perfect age. He loved everything! Just like his daddy did 20 years ago. Getting to experience it again and see it through his eyes- priceless and only comes in second to taking my first, best Disney buddy. (His daddy) Actually it might be a tie.

We started with a day at the beach, so we would not have such a long ride- (we left a very cold ice storm here)

It was too cold to play in the water of course, but the toes. He still had an awesome time.

We got up at 3:00 am to beat traffic. Cool pics of the trees at Jekyll when we left.

We arrived at Coronado Springs at a little after 7:00 am. Was hoping room would be ready, but should have known better it being the time of year it was. A quick freshen up in the bathrooms and we headed straight to MK!




We chose the Ferry so he could watch the castle get closer. Then off to Buzz!

Eli face meeting Minnie @ H&V is priceless what a sweet moment, but as for the guy on the scooter who on earth blatantly goes to run over a child's toy, what an absolute jerk! I remember seeing the CP as a child, I not sure if they had celebrity guest speakers back then or maybe I was too young to remember but I do remember even as a child it made me emotional. Your trip looks so much fun I can't wait for the rest

I agree. The Candlelight Processional was my favorite part of the short trip my wife and I took there last year, and I just wish that some day I can take the rest of the family to experience it. It brought tears to my eyes many times, it was so beautiful and moving. I'm glad you got to experience it. It sounds like you are having a GREAT trip with your grandson!

I had wanted to see this for so long. It was even more moving than I thought it would be.

He was so sweet with the characters. I am so glad I got pics of the sweet smile.
There was no doubt that he saw Present. He looked right at it, looked at me saying please stop and ran right over him. He would not have stopped had my husband not grabbed his scooter. Never said oops sorry or anything. He was not a very nice man. Karma catches up with people who act that way though.

Oops - left out the pic of the dingbats in shorts! Can promise you we did not make that mistake the next morning when it was 42! 42 feels like a snowstorm weather at home. It was so, so cold!

Apparently I was wrong about the temp, it was a whopping 43.

We headed straight to a shop to get me another shirt. I had a sweatshirt but needed a shirt to go under. Got it and a hat and gloves. Yes, it was that cold. I lay in the sun at 55 in spring. This was like 30s here I swear!
Then off to take a Safari!

I had not made a fastpass for the Safari. We originally had EE, Dinosaur and FoP. I switched the EE to FoTLK but there were no fp for Safari. Thank you Concierge Coronado. He loved it! Watched and pointed at all the animals. His favorite was the Girnaffes as he called them.

I will not be talking about the cold in Florida anymore in this report because I may throw up. This is our weekend forecast. I hate snow!!!

Back to the report.

We got some popcorn for Stinker, and even though it was 10:00-ish - I got something from the Dawa Bar. When in Rome, I suppose. At least it had bacon, right?

Going to try to post at least FoTLK and a few sentimental pics afterwards. I have the baby the next few days and apparently I need to grocery shop or all the milk and bread will be gone for Snowmageddon. Who knew so many people ate milk sandwiches? Happens every blessed time. Lol.

My fave part. (For those keeping count, I cried)

Eli kept pointing to Simba and saying I see Simba? So on the way out we paused, to take a quick couple of pics.

His daddy’s fave movie as a baby. Gigi’s heart melted much? Yep!!! And I exited crying. Lol (happy cry)

Having a horrible time posting, on iOS, trying the old school way to see if it is better.

We took a couple of special photos, before heading to play some games. (A lot of games..aka, a lot of money) He has fun though just like we always let his daddy do, worth every penny)
That and Tusker House, where if I thought Hollywood & Vine was sweet, it got even better.

Photo 1- because, since I don’t even know when, his daddy and I, always, always get shot by the canon. We take photos of just me with an empty spot beside me, if he isn’t there.

Goofy ears, check! He wouldn’t stand because he was in a Gigi mood, but he is a little less than a year younger than his daddy, in the pics. My son was so tall, nobody would believe he was 3 1/2! He grew to a whopping 6’5- but promise you he is still my baby. Very special pictures for me.

How can I be so blessed that I get an almost repeat? I dreaded every day thinking of my son growing up, I was the mom that cried when school started,every single year- cried when he got his class ring, don’t even get me started when the college letters and graduation stuff came. Lol, this whole Gigi gig, is pretty awesome.

At one of the shops at AK- Entry, near Flame Tree BBQ. I was so cold, I do not remember which one, I do know I had to walk a bit to the restrooms at Pizzafari to put my long sleeve tee under my sweatshirt. They said it had just came out that day. Assuming because it was so cold. I got matching gloves, that had the gray bow, with pearl dots.

First, I read (stalk) a lot of the trip reports because it's so much fun to see everyone having a great time, but I don't think I have ever read any where their enthusiasm and love for their trip and company comes through so well!. Second, while reading I have been smiling and laughing (and agreeing the guy in the scooter was awful! Nasty man.
Also, I have learned something I didn't realize I needed to do. We will be there the week of Dec 17th and I am going to pack way more warm clothes than I thought I needed to!

Oh my goodness, these are adorable! I live in South Florida, so unfortunately gloves never really are necessary, but I love these and may need to have them.

Maybe that is it All they have to do is call for an inch and it gets crazy. I really hope they have this one wrong. I am all for snow on Christmas but the rest of it- go away!
