Is this the end of comforters finally?

Checked into our room at Pop yesterday and noticed no more comforters! I like the new clean look. Not sure if all the resorts have followed suit yet. We were here in early September and our room had comforters then.

Stayed at CBR 1st week of this month & they had the same look with a different swag across the bottom of the bed of course.

I once asked and was told that they were washed between each guest visit.

They lied, lol. Bedspreads were almost never washed.

Hampton Inn swears (and I believe it's true, for the most part) that they was the liners of their comforters between guests.

I like a bedspread. I like the way it goes with the themed room. But I do understand that people prefer a clean comforter liner. Just wish they didn't have to be white.

I don't know if Disney's are even liners, though. I think they're just slapping on sheets.

I like the white sheets. They are easy to clean thoroughly, using hot water and bleach, which could not be done with colored sheets.

I do something similar at home in warmer weather - sheet/blanket/sheet or sheet/lightweight comforter/sheet. I use off-white, but don't bleach them.

Yup no more comforters at GF in October which I do like the clean look but it was fun finding charactors on the comforters!

Currently at WL and the bedding is white sheet, light blanket, white top sheet with a runner across the bottom. Sheets are super soft.

I was in the 50s building Dec 1-13 and we had comforters. Otherwise the room seemed pretty updated.

All you need is sheets now with the new energy efficient air conditioners that shut off in the middle of the night when they sense no movement.

There were no comforters on the beds at AoA this past June -- just the triple sheeting (sheet, blanket, sheet) and the themed runner/swag. I really liked it. And unfortunately (for me) we did *not* have the a/c shutting off during the night and my DH kept it set at 65 the entire week. I had to call mousekeeping ask for more blankets.

I like this look--it's what most nice hotels do these days and the runner at the bottom still provides some theming. Classy. The old comforters were very 90s...which would only be reasonable in 10% of the rooms at Pop and no where else.

You are probably right. I did see a ton of bedspreads when walking by the laundry room area but who knows. Their answer made me feel better though.

DW and I were at SSR in Sept, no comforters there. We liked the look and it just felt like it was cleaner.

I don't know. I would assume so. This look is actually well-themed to Contemporary/BLT. Of any hotel/motel, I think it fits best there.

Most hotels and motels are doing this now, so it's not like Disney is the only one.

Time for me to let those fun, decorative bedspreads go.
