Is this really a thing or is it April 1ST? Cabanas in the parks.

Yes, it is truly horrifying to witness the abuse of mother and Patricia with each new scene. I can't believe he never mentioned trans gender bathrooms either! Hope your #triggered!

I'd love to see a venn diagram of dummies that make fun of the word "triggered" and get "your" & "you're" mixed up. I bet it'd just be 1 big circle

And lets get one for online grammar nazis and those who are catapulted into a raging state of defense when their feelings are hurt....oh wait I found a visual representation...

Ignorance is the night of the mind, but a night without moon or star.

-Confucius
Unfortunately, Confucius didn't define which side is ignorant. That means that each side can use the same talking point. So, as a lesson, it is pretty much useless. Up until now I have only seen opinion, not fact. Opinion cannot be wrong unless it directly clashes with fact. In this case... it hasn't on either side.
The success or failure of this endeavor does not negate nor excuse what is at its core. The ideology at work has no place in a theme park,... Or at least in a theme park operated by people who actually care about their guests experience.
I'm afraid that it is about time that all of us understand that the person that absolutely led the "care about their guests" movement, died in December of 1966. We are extremely lucky that it held on as long as it did so many of us could experience it. Disney is a name only now, much like Epcot. It has no moral or ethical requirements other then whatever they decide to impose. If we feel that what they are doing is wrong, we have options and the biggest and loudest is to no longer spend money there. That message will be felt quickly, unless, the masses are still impressed by the place, and they just jump in and take our places. We are no longer the deciding group, a business is not a democracy. It is ruled by a completely different set of rules. We can chose to accept them or reject them, but, our influence only extends to the amount of money that we are willing to give them.

And where did I say they didn't have the right to respond? And quite frankly, you've not been bashful about making comments where they weren't necessarily welcome either.
True, but, I try and not keep beating a horse until it becomes dead and uninteresting. That approach is way past its shelf life.

This thread is fascinating.

Pages and pages about people making judgments, digs, nonsense, and raging insecurity.

Free tip-- worry about what you have in life. Not about what others do or don't have. Or what someone chooses to spend or not spend their money on. You may have less stress that way.

I didn't notice the tents, I'll look for them tonight, but either way they definitely didn't stand out to me. If an in park rest spot makes sense for someone, and doesn't impact you, then really- Who Cares?!?!

Some of these threads get so crazy.

You would have thrown something at them in the original one. "Just iron my shirts dear..."
That's the crazy thing. I remember loving the show as a child.. haven't seen it in 20+ years now, but I definitely don't remember thinking "oh wow. women are so different now".

"if you don't like it.. it must be because you can't afford it..." - this is my new favorite justification.

It just makes me laugh when it's the same people who think MYW was done for their benefit.. that think these business changes are harmless and only impact those who want to pay for it. So blind..

When did these appear at Typhoon Lagoon? Was there outrage and name calling back then too? Lets assume MK's TLand's version will evolve from the test shanty to something more in line to this aesthetic/value, would your opinions still be the same as how you feel about the TLagoon variety....or resort poolside variety even?

I feel you may be in line for some criticism for comparing a waterpark to a theme park ... just sayin

They used to be free at TL.
No amentities naturally - but they were first come first serve.

I don't think they **intentionally** created the situation...but I do believe they are obtuse to recognizing the consequences of the actions. And most certainly blind to the abandonment of putting all customers on platform with their 'value add' offerings of late.

Actually Disney DID intentionally create the situation, They removed the benches so people would be forced into the shopping / dining venues for respite from the heat and crowds, Unfortunately since Disney is nothing more than a bunch of competing business units occupying the same physical plant we had RIGHTSIZING dining prioritized so the dining venues could minimize staffing,

Had this NOT been the case the table service places might have been able to take up the slack but of course this would have involved RISK which the current management is totally averse to. Remember back in the 'Good Eisner' era TS dining had probably 2x the number of available tables than we do today and remarkably they STILL made a profit even though crowd levels were half of those seen today.

As a result of this risk aversion behavior we get the UNHCR tents for those willing to pay for them. They still need the blue UNHCR HUMVEES and Land Rovers to complete the theme however.
