Because you have a four year old who is DYING to go on it... and you can't say no to her?

I may or may not be speaking from experience.
The one and only legitimate excuse! I don't evev try over at Kali just wear a bathing suit under my clothes that day! Bring a towel for a quick dry and I'm good to go!

  • I'd rather see a poncho on Splash Mountain than to hear someone recite the ghost host at HM.
  • I'd rather see a poncho on Splash Mountain than to have someone cut in line.
  • I'd rather see a poncho on Splash Mountain than to squeeze in front of my family during a parade.
  • I'd rather see a poncho on Splash Mountain than to be stuck behind a Brazilian tour group.
  • I'd rather see a poncho on Splash Mountain than to....(your turn)
I'd rather see a poncho on splash mountain than not be there to see it :D

Last time i rode splash it was with DW Brother and his son.Me and DW got the second row Brother and son in front row. Brother is larger than me and nephew was only seven so as we went over the main drop everyone has their arms up in the photo but then me and DW quickly ducked down after the flash ......... I stayed dry as a bone as my brother(sat in front of me ) took all the splash. My DW however fared much worse as my nephew wasn't big enough to act as a human sheild :D:D

I wear a poncho on Aladdins magic carpet, that camel gets me every time!

OK maybe not. I can't see the need for a poncho on splash as I have never really been soaked. Splash is pretty tame from a getting wet stand point and in the summer heat I find it refreshing. But to each their own.

I have never gotten really wet on Splash Mt, but that is also because I always request the back row. Now Kali on the other hand every time I ride it I get soaked so I am thinking about wearing a poncho the next time. I really like the ride but I hate walking around the park soaking wet. And it takes forever to dry. So I dont think it such a big deal if someone wears a poncho, they might really like the attraction they just dont want to get soaked.
Kali doesn't have a front since it's round. One hint though, look to see where the biggest people are sitting. If they are bunched together the chances of them getting wet are much greater. As it starts down the slop in the area with the most "splash" the raft will turn downward at the heaviest spot. They will technically be in the front when it hits the bottom and the splash over happens. They get the tidal wave action the hardest.

I mean granted it is a flume and all, but truthfully that's the last thing I think about on it. for me the story and songs and memories are the important things that have me coming back, you could take out all the water and I'd still be happy with it, I dunno how any logs would move if that were the case but still.

I will say not wearing a poncho came back to bite me once though, and so now completely understand people who wear them. I went once in December at like 11 or so after Christmas parades and everything and it killed. it's never the water, it's that breeze and air in December killing you afterwords. that was also the first night in my life where I actually considered spilling hot chocolate on myself as a great idea.

Hi I am Killnme and it has been 25 rides since I have been dry coming off Kali River Rapids. But I have learned the day we are going to DAK to wear a bathing suit and a rash-guard shirt. We also throw a towel in our bag. That way I am not to uncomfortable for the day.

Nope, I don't get why anyone would even go on a ride that you would clearly get wet on if they don't wanna get wet. Makes no sense to me. You don't even get very wet on splash anyway.

Splash is more then just a log flume. I can see it not making sense if someone wore that on a local six flags log flume, but someone might want to see everything splash has to offer ie the AAs and being immerses in the story without getting soaked.

Ponchos?!?! Bleh!!! Never would I wear one. Whenever I go on Splash or Kali, I always lean towards where the water is coming from to get as soaked as possible. I go on the water ride for a reason and that reason is to get as drenched as possible. Even when it rains, I like to walk around and just soak it in. ;)

Never. I hand my wallet and camera to my wife who doesnt go on Splash and enjoy the ride as it is meant to be. Most of the time I've ridden through without as much as a drop getting on me, but I have gotten quite a good splash before sitting in the front seat.
