Hah ... now, it isn't really beyond ... even if the wilds of Virginia can be scary to fanbois (no MAGICal purple signs and bright lights!)
And the Spirit flat out believes that BGW is not only a higher caliber park than MK, but by a very good margin (and that's just using Disney metrics that he was conditioned to at a young age) and one of the top parks on the planet ... period! ... of course, you DO already know the Spirit's feelings on this subject now doncha? :wave:

) even if they are further destroying the Disney Legacy (and Walt's good name) in the process ... OK, we could talk about Iger has been adament that no more money will be added to Anaheim for 3-4 years now after DCA 2.0 debuts, yet the BoD doesn't really give a damn and privately members have agreed that DL needs a major addition before 'The Boy Who Lived' descends on Hollywood and there are two major attractions already gaining traction amongst Glendale insiders (one that wouldn't surprise any fanboi ... one that would shock many and have them wetting their pants) as 'the answer' ... or ... well, I am a weary Spirit ... seven weeks mostly on the road ... living that one percenters dream :animwink::wave::king: Yep. I will have to chime in maybe later in the week. So ... did I miss anything? (No, not Disney's further gouging of those addicted to Pixie Dust and just plain consumers that want to visit WDW, along with the requisite apologists here doing just that) ... I mean, anything of substance. Has Kevin Yee written anything lately?

Having spent many, many, many visits to BGW, anyone who says it's a better park has to be seriously myopic. Granted that the setting is beautiful and nicely landscaped, but it does not hold a candle to Disney. From the quality of theming to the shows to the annoyingly short music loops, it is a poor quality knockoff of the Disney experience. Let me give you just a few items that would drive the fanbois nuts:
The backside of fiberglass - ride the trams from the parking lots where the roof is a single-layer fiberglass structure, and the glass fibers are hanging like hair.
The "Riverdance" type show that used to be in Ireland, where the soundtrack contained all the tap sounds and the dancers simply jumped around on stage in soft slippers.
The smell of raw sewage that envelops one of the skyway stations.
The carny-folk types who run the games throughout the park.
Minimum wage imported employees who like to sleep in the air-conditioned bathrooms.
I could go on and on, but I think you get the point...

Disney knock off eh? IIRC The 'Olde Country was open well before EPCOT which is what could be considered its closest theme rival. Try again. The park is in a league of its own and holds its own from any other park. Their mix of beauty, nature, old culture, and thrill rides is unparalleled by any.
I did not see that on any of my two visits there last week. In fact it is smooth on the top and bottom. You sure you've been there? Try again.
Riverdance? HAHAHAHA, you mean Celtic Fyre where they actually dance. I know several of the performers. Try again.
No smell but evergreens will be found around there, perhaps you were smelling the Rhine River after a heavy rain. A smell which will be found near any lake, no helping that. Try again.
Carny-folk types? You must be referencing KD by mistake because that surely is not BGW. I am starting to wonder if you have ever even been there with how far off your so called "points" are. Try again.
There are hardly any internationals employed at the park. BGW has very high pay compared to other parks and is MUCH higher than Disney's pay. Try again.
Yes, the point has been made, you either A) have never been B) refuse to accept how great BGW's offerings are, especially for the price C) scared that something might have higher quality in several areas over Disney even though its nature is entirely different. Oh yes, I will go with D) all of the above.
Oh, how I cannot wait for the Resort here to be constructed.

Well, I guess being a season ticket holder for 10 years counts for nothing, oh expert one. Yes, it was a cheap way to entertain my kids while they longed for trips to Florida and California.
BGW is to EPCOT as Lester's Possum Park is to Magic Kingdom.

Nope.
He absolutely doesn't want the job and would never be considered anyway.
But anyone who thinks Iger's going to come close to finishing out his contract probably thinks WDW has never been better. In my Spirited realm we call those people 'special' :drevil:
