^Frequent derailments, engines stalling from low fuel or water, and improperly trained CM's.

realli?

ive just watched a vid of the full ride and i saw people in indian style canoos (sp?) on the back water rives and such,i was wondering,

How did they get across the waterway between 7 seas and Bay Lake? The monorail clears the waterway quite high up, and the road goes beneath it.

Here's photos of the railcar at TL. The door on the back was open and I was so tempted to take a gander inside but fear...and probably getting kicked out of WDW got the better of me. :D

This was an excellent topic/question to post. I had completely forgotten about this at Fort Wilderness. Love the photos on the link given. I wish there would be more threads posted on things forgotten at WDW, but I have a hard time coming up with them. This thread is on the level with the old grape-shaped/orange-shaped juice containers that I "had" to have at WDW in the 70's. :) These are so interesting.

That's a great overhead shot of the remanence of the Fort Wilderness Railroad, WDW Monorail. Thank you.

Thank you, Nansafan for the meaning of OP. Being 44 years old, I was hoping that it didn't mean Old Person. :animwink:

Scott, I'm 47 and certainly do not consider myself to be an "Old Person". Glad to be of help.

Ringo8n24, there is a whole website dedicated about "lost" or former WDW attractions. I heard about it on this forum. Here is the link. If it doesn't work, google Widen Your World and you will get there.

Thank you, Nansafan. I do not consider myself old either, but not having known an obvious abbreviation like OP made me think twice. :hammer:

Scott, I believe it is just that at our age, there are so many things that we are required to remember/know etc. that sometimes minor things i.e. meaning of OP are simply stored in the circular files of our brains and are not immediately available. (That's my story anyway and I'm sticking to it.) Besides, the "kids" these days don't speak in words with all their texting and IMing. They talk in abbreviations. What is wrong with speaking and typing in complete sentences I say!   (Ok, I'm a secretary and I live for proper spelling.)

I was just tracking the route of the Fort Willderness RR using Google maps and it passes right by River Country. Does anyone know if it made stops at River Country?

Bit of a thread bump!

No - you`re following the wrong track. The line got as close as south east of the petting farm and Pioneer Hall
