at no point should a thread ever be locked... it's censorship and is sad

disneymom is extremely quick on locking threads, and of course my PM's went unanswered...

open discussion and discourse... oh the fascists will shortly be here to clean house

It is off topic. If you want to discuss religious views take it to chit chat or PM. Also this forum is privately owned and the rules are made for a reason. Censorship is a term that is thrown around too easily. And this is just a hunch, but I am guessing religious talk is off limits because someone will find an inappropriate thread to bring it up in, just to spark an argument that has nothing to do with WDW. But I am just speculating :D

I see a lot of posts about people not happy that wheelchair people get to go to the front of the lines. I saw a post about wheelchair people should have to wait in a bathroom line like everyone else and not be able to go use the handicap stall as soon as it becomes available. Saw posts about wheelchair people not having to wait to board a bus. And have seen posts about people not liking that wheelchair people get to go to the front of the line at attractions.

I actually saw a bus driver ask a wheelchair person how long they had been waiting for a bus and then told them they can catch the next one.

The only point I want to make is that there is limited capacity for most wheelchair people. A bus can only handle one or two wheelchairs, if they don't take them as soon as they can, there could be a couple show up for the next one and then they are going to be waiting a very long time.

There is typically only one handicap stall in bathrooms, if a handicap person waits in line like everyone else, they will then also need to wait for thier specific stall to open up. I'm not saying the handicap stall should not be used by non-handicap people, but if there is a handicap person waiting let them use it.

And as far as the attractions go, some of the queues cannot handle wheelchairs, some rides have limiting capacity for handicap people and some need special assistance. If they waited in line like everyone else it would most likely slow the whole process down.

I'm so glad I'm not in a wheelchair and if you are you have my understanding.

At first, couldn't think of anything that I don't like about WDW but after reading the many posts I'm totally on board with...

1. Flash photography on rides.
2. Riders either talking or repeating dialogue on attractions.
3. Scooter folks who honk their tiny, sad, little, you only wish yours was bigger annoying horn at you!

I don't like the inconsistency of the bus transportation, i.e. having 5-6 buses for the destination you're not heading for pass through the bus stop before the first bus for the place you DO want to go through comes in. I've seen that happen all over WDW at various resorts.

I don't like that they put 5 resorts on the same "Magical Express" and I am always the last drop off ... resort #5 :(

Try a car service. For $68 we get our own town car for exactly this reason. Plus we get our own luggage so we don't have to wait for it at the resort and we don't have the headache of being stuck at check-in with the other 20 people on the bus for our resort. Not exactly a free solution but we find it is worth the money:sohappy:

ADR's... I do not know what the answer is to fix the system but today our 180 day window opened and most everything is filled up. I don't know how they can fix this so I am not much help with a solution but at 180 days out you should at least have some hope of getting your choices. It will not really diminish our enjoyment of the parks but it does drive me crazy that I am eating dinner at 3:45 at Mama Melrose's to get the dinner and a show Fantasmic package and eating breakfast at Crystal Palace before MK opens so we miss rope drop as well as having to go to our second and third choices on three other meals. I am sure there are those who will say I am negative and a whiner...please do not misunderstand I am not hating on Disney but I think they need to find some sort of better system.

I still love WDW and think it is honestly the best family vacation out there!

re-upping this since it got lost in the white noise argument earlier in the thread. Am I the only one....

No, you are not the only one. I really don’t complain about WDW much, and I’m more inclined to enjoy rather than analyze, but I really dislike the ADR and dining plan systems. I know that it is not likely to be changed any time soon. The restaurants are full as a result of this system, and I’m sure that this serves the fine folks at Disney Money Counting Central well. Back in the 90’s we could choose a restaurant at EPCOT and simply walk in, sometimes with a half hour wait. I really dislike having to choose a place to eat weeks before going. We sometimes decide to go to WDW a day before leaving, so the ADR system becomes more limited for us. The restaurant situation at WDW has become a bit unpleasant for me, and this is in addition to the fact that I’m not a huge fan of overpriced mediocrity to begin with.

I just got back from a trip to Disneyland & California Adventure and I can't help but make comparisons between those and WDW and I can add that I dislike how some attractions are so much better at Disneyland and that Disneyland has so much less space and so many more attractions than Magic Kingdom. It just frustrates me a little. I also noticed that there were A LOT less scooters at Disneyland Resort than WDW.

I agree. We have family in the area (AP holders) and they used to be able to call and make a reservation to meet us for dinner a couple of days before our arrival. hey would make a reservation, and let us know where and when. Now, all we can do is meet them for a drink before we watch fireworks, if that. They really don't know what their schedule will be 180 days out. Heck, sometimes we don't even decide to visit until the week before. We are a 3 hour drive - close enough for last minute trips, but far enough that we prefer to stay in a hotel onsite.

1) Flash photography
2) People that, while walking in front of you, instantly stop, turn, and run right into you and then look at you like you're an idiot. :brick:
3) The lack of upkeep on certain attractions.
4) Disney transportation. (Except the boats. Those are awesome.)

I hate the nitpicking that goes on CONSTANTLY. Whether it be a broken bulb or something as big as the Yeti. I hate that Disney's every single move has to be critiqued until it can't be critiqued anymore, instead of enjoying the place for what it is and saying a few positive things for a change. That's what i hate.

Agree 100%

What they did to El Rio Del Tiempo and the Living Seas, and the empty show buildings behind the Japan and Germany Pavilions. I also don't like the hat in front of the Great Movie ride and the fact the the Yeti is still broken. I think I covered all of the major ones.

Dining is a drama at WDW!

I don't know where I'll be 180 days in advance! I don't even know which park I'll be in, never mind what kind of dinner I'm in the mood for. Why, I don't even know if I'll be in Florida that long beforehand.
And even if I did, I couldn't get reservations anyway because last time I did try early reservations everything was booked solid for the next six years in advance.
