meanders in and sees a discussion about Captain EO
I don't think anyone really expects the Comminicore buildings to turn back into Communicore.I've noticed a trend among EPCOT Center Fans (and trust me, I'm one of them) to cling to the idea of the buildings that are still left in Epcot, even if their contents haven't been what they were for a long time. Communicore hasn't been Communicore since the early 90's (and I liked EARLY innoventions, but it got stale quickly), and the Festival Center...formerly Wonders of Life pavilion.
I just can't maintain the notion that if the shell remains that somehow they'll someday decide to change the internals back to the original version.
Yes, I will definitely miss the hallway behind Club Cool and Starbucks as that is original and it's a nice, bright area that they finally added seating to (after I requested it on here, MAYBE Disney was listening??? ), but I'm not going to keep the notion that if the building stays that we'll somehow get something Communicore again in there.
So on the concept art for the new entrance to Epcot, Innoventions East is still standing but Innoventions West seems to be gone, and I don't think it's just covered up by trees.

Additionally, Captain EO was featured in the pavilion dedicated to Imagination, where it was an example of both futuristic vision and futuristic technology that was built around imaginary characters and settings. Guardians does not share that important distinguishing context, as people seem to forget.
It was framed as a highly-produced fiction you were about to watch, not as a reality you were going to experience the way Guardians is framed.
Some have stated that Electric Umbrella & Mousegear will stay....
Electric Unbrella will not exist when this is all complete
The conceit of the Marvel attractions taking place in their respective parks has already been established.Wait - you know how Guardian's is going to be framed?
RIP EU...
As a fan of coke myself I really hope coke gets a new building. I found them really cool how they manage to mix coca cola with the theme. The location probably won’t, but there are replacement buildings proposed. If they’ll be in one of those I don’t know.

Second runner up is Liberty Inn...But, I'm sure they will make something for the counter service cravers such like myself...Literally my most favorite counter service place for burgers as Disney...
Super bummed about this...
Fun fact, the rocket on top of cool scanner is one of the ships used in Flight of the NavigatorAlso the future coke creates on cool scanner at Tomorowland

Energy being too politicized is stupid, its the one issue that shouldn't be. Call me crazy, but believing in science shouldn't be controversial in EPCOT. With no sponsor they could have gone all-in with any climate message they wanted.I’ll take that over rundown old Epcot pavilion with broken dinosaurs and effects where your forced to watch an embarrassingly bad 10 minute long video at the end presented by Ellen Degeneres
And i know pie in the sky we would have liked to see a modern energy pavilion but right now that issue is unfortunately too politicized in America, it’s not going to bring in and excite the crowds like Marvel will, and it would just get stale in 5 years anyway. On top of that it goes back to one of the original complaints (rightly or wrongly) that nobody wants to get lectured while on a family vacation.
The original attraction in hinsight was evil anyway considering it was just a big promo for Exxon one of the largest contributors to environmental damage in the world and a company that has kept global warming data and green technology down for decades.
On top of that the original Epcot Center that we all love so much heavily promoted Captain EO by George Lucas and Michael Jackson. How is Guardians of the Galaxy any different aside from the amount of real estate it’s using?
I agree but sadly it's the world we live in.Energy being too politicized is stupid, its the one issue that shouldn't be. Call me crazy, but believing in science shouldn't be controversial in EPCOT. With no sponsor they could have gone all-in with any climate message they wanted.
It may be the same here, it may not. It's foolish for anyone to pretend that they know. The conceit of the Marvel attractions taking place in their respective parks has already been established.
Peter Quill having visited EPCOT Center was not a joke. There’s nothing foolish about acknowledging how the attractions are being handled. It may be the same here, it may not. It's foolish for anyone to pretend that they know.
DAK certainly looks (or at least looked) that way. You couldn't swing a dead cat without hitting something related to Coca Cola.Wait a second...
Is Walt Disney World secretly a Coca-Cola theme park?!
