Stick here. You'll learn moreSorry - I've been stalking Twitter all morning.
Seems to me they are carefully dissembling and it's not a demo.
This video showed up as an ad before a video on Youtube, (not sure why it's in French though) but when it comes to the parks, it shows all the icons, with the Tower of Terror taking the place of the hat. It looks like the Hollywood Tower Hotel is becoming the new icon to the park.
Earful Tower is now on merchandise, planning DVDs, and construction walls. HTH doesn't work, in my opinion because there's a Tower of Terror at DLR, Disneyland Paris, and Tokyo Disney although they're different facades than the original, they all have the same story except Tokyo. Icons are supposed to be unique to the park. Why does DHS even need a huge icon? They're is several iconic structures in the park. DCA has an icon problem too, there's the Fun Wheel, Grizzley Peak, and Carthay Circle Theater. According to Wikipedia( I know it's not a trusted source) Grizzley peak is the icon even though people think it's Carthay circle. People will assume the same with the Chinese Theater and the Earful Tower. You're right the park is in transition. We'll see soon enough.Good catch on the icon. (That's Canadian French.)
I'm not sure that means HTH will be the icon of the park in the long term. Feels to me like the whole park is in transition and we'll just have to wait and see.
It almost feels like a giant mickey is eating the Hat, bite per bite at night.PROGRESS!!!!!
Cutting off and removing the stars and moons will take more time. They are not saving the thing so they are just cutting each symbol off as a piece of the hat. Imaging the gnashing of teeth and griping that would occur if they took the time to cut off these before taking down the hat. LOL Personally I wish they'd cut bigger sections off and truck it out of the park at night. Divide that hunk of junk into quarter sections and take it out with four big trucks.
I honestly disagree. Since the hat is being Demo'ed.. sure as hell they had to use the Tower of Terror than trying a very bad angle (and the bad state) of the Theatre.Good catch on the icon. (That's Canadian French.)

I get this mental image...only on a much grander scale...It almost feels like a giant mickey is eating the Hat, bite per bite at night.
I wonder if its because the stars and moons weight a crap-ton on their own and they want to be more careful when lowering them...? Maybe to the point where they will remove them separately of the main structure...?I wonder if they are from a harder material. Perhaps they are Steel or aluminium panels?
That would explain why they cant saw that area (the saw being designed to cut only the hat material, not the stars and moon)
Neither Sleeping Beauty Castle nor Cinderella Castle are unique to a single park.Icons are supposed to be unique to the park.
like a chocolate bunny? It almost feels like a giant mickey is eating the Hat, bite per bite at night.
