Is the clock ticking on the Sorcerer Mickey Hat icon at the Studios? YES!

The real secret to using it just for family and friends is to stay off the pages that are specific in support of particular place or event. If you don't read or even subscribe to the Disney Facebook Page, for example, you will never have to deal with the opinion of others that you don't even know. It's sort of like discussion forums where you are working with hundreds of people that you don't even know. I have used Facebook primarily as a communication devise when I want to inform or ask all my Friends about something that is relevant to them and myself. I have been on it for years and I have friended only 32 people, those are the ones I want to communicate with and no one else. They are family and actual friends or acquaintances not a random group of people that I wouldn't know if I walked into them. Used just for that I find it very handy.
Exactly!

In an interesting twist of fate, they had official course photographers stationed by the Sorcerer's Hat at the Disneyland Hotel during this weekend's Star Wars Half Marathon races. As far as I can remember, they've never had photographers stationed there before, since it's about 50 yards from the finish line and that's where their main photo rig is set up

And in an even more interesting twist of fate, it seems like they've cropped the top of the hat out of all of the photos. I think it was just unfortunate camera positioning, but it does make you wonder...

interesting how they are cutting around the stars and moon... I would have thought there would have been an easier way for it all to come apart but evidentially not and with that much cutting/sawing... not wonder it's taking a while

probably all the electronics and fiber optics that were added to the moon and stars; makes it impractical to remove it, just cut it all out in one section.

Cutting off and removing the stars and moons will take more time. They are not saving the thing so they are just cutting each symbol off as a piece of the hat. Imaging the gnashing of teeth and griping that would occur if they took the time to cut off these before taking down the hat. LOL Personally I wish they'd cut bigger sections off and truck it out of the park at night. Divide that hunk of junk into quarter sections and take it out with four big trucks.
