Good, maybe that’s why the park is stagnant. The hat is a curse! The magic has been trapped by the hat all these years. Maybe by releasing it we’ll get some new attractions finally.

I'll miss it too. My first memories of MGM was of the Chinese Theater at the end of the street, and not much in the way of entertainment in the park at all to the point of us turning to taking pictures with the antique cars as entertainment.
By our next visit many years later the park had the Muppets, HTH and RR and the Hat had taken it's position at the end of the street. Might be silly, but to me that hat brought the fun.
In one of the PIcs, There's trees on either side of the hat. Will those be removed as well since they look so close to the hat?

I'm guessing that it will take just a week to get the blue "skin" off and then another 3 weeks for all of the strucutual steel and breaking up concrete pads, then pouring new slabs. Just my guess.

I'm almost certain those trees were planted to "frame" the hat, so I'm guessing they'll go.

I'm repeating myself but man, I just can't believe that thing is coming down. I really can't. Truly never thought they would after it lasted so long.
They should have just placed that sucker where it was SUPPOSED to go, in front of the park. I don't know when they'll learn to just spend the money now instead of later. Very poor decision making for short-term savings on spending.
Can we pretty please see those tombstones be removed from in front of Spaceship Earth? They can dump them elsewhere. When does that 'contract' end?

completely agree... would have looked nice before you enter the park in that wide area
also agree the tombstones need to go at epcot (I would even be ok with them leaving them but taking off the mugshots)

Yeah, I try not too myself. But with three boys I have to every now and again. Also, makes for a nice A/C spot out of the heat, the Hallway that is. I wish they could do more with Innoventions. Hopefully there will be some changes soon as the Test Labs and IBM Think are going away now.
