After all of the terrible ideas and opinions I've heard and read over the years I couldn't agree with this more.

As mean and potentially insulting as it sounds, society has managed to convince itself that all opinions are valid, equal, and deserving of thought and consideration. This contradicts the idea of education, experience, and credentials providing weight and validity to certain opinions.

Which is why nobody should listen to me when I say that 80's rock should be the only music played on the radio.

In some instances, you are correct. Certain academic matters, particularly hard sciences, immediately spring to mind. However, I think matters of aesthetic taste, particularly for an amusement park featuring a talking mouse, are far more subjective.

DHS - so what will it be... water tower barely visible?, ToT? Chinese Theater? The park without enough rides (yet)? not that is has to have an icon... but in a way it does since this is how they recognize all the other park logos

it appears from the construction walls it'll be the water tower for now

Not to be rude, but your daughter recognizes the park icons as the way Disney promotes them. Pretty sure almost everyone thinks the same thing...

It managed quite happily for over a decade to be the Earful Tower and nobody died, so I don't think reverting to that will be a problem, sight lines or not.

Having said that, the point of the tower location was that you would see it from the road, but the big in-park 'reveal' wouldn't be until you stepped onto the tour. Without the tour, I admit that impact will be lost.

It was the Water Tower for 11 years prior to the hat and it functioned just fine in that role.

oh no you're not being rude haha you're absolutely correct... that and all the other parks are identified by the 1 big icon seen as you enter the park... for DHS now there won't be one... sorta (you don't see me sheding a tear tho) haha

Just pulling up into the park now and the hat is definitely still standing tall, despite what my boat captain said yesterday. He said it would be gone in one day... Yeah right.

At Walt Disney Studios park in Paris the water tower is sort of just off to one side of the entrance, I think.
