One more day to go, it is almost like Christmas again!
I know! then people start complaining they should have relocated it, etc.
Iger's bonus was a bit more important than a pesky 40th anniversary. The whole 40th anniversary of the Magic Kingdom was so screwed up. It's as if management didn't even realize that 40 years is a milestone.
I could kind of understand not making a huge deal out of the 30th since they just did the 25th, but even then, it seems like pins and a little fanfare would have been in order.
To completely miss the 40th just seemed door-**** dumb to me. From what I remember reading, lots of people packed the parking lot early in the morning and ended up walking down World Drive over by the Contemporary to get into the Magic Kingdom because nothing was setup or thought of (I assume the whole TTC area was completely packed).
why not? the hat is good, it should be just positioned elsewhere. On top of the animation area is a fine example of a good position.
yes. The main structure could be mostly down in a month but the concrete base and utilities will take longer. I expect 3 months total if they don't get crazy with its replacement. If the rumors are true that they are planning on building a stage that telescopes from the ground then we are in for 6 to 9 months of construction walls. Will it take them more than a month to take it down?
I'll take that bet.A couple days is my guess.
I wonder what the possibility of the hat actually being repositioned elsewhere as opposed to being destroyed? I am guessing that we would have heard of potential sites by now....why not? the hat is good, it should be just positioned elsewhere. On top of the animation area is a fine example of a good position.
they could even use it as a entrance gateway to the animation studios area.

I would imagine though they want to get it done by SWW since so much of the event entertainment is centered around there. Thanks for finding my pics. I've been talking to several front line CMs while I've been around the park and a couple of them have said that they were told May for 100% completion. Again, however... this came from front line hat-pin-shop CMs so.... yeah.
As long as the main hat structure is gone first, then I'm a happy camper. Walls up with them building a new stage, won't be nearly as much an eyesore as a giant hat blocking the Chinese Theatre.
YAAAYYMerry Late Christmas and Happy Hat Death Day everyone! Here's your present:
