I remember the park without the hat. It made the entrace feel more like walking into a theme park. You didn't have a hat at the end. The transition was much nicer.

You know what's funny? We are all mesmerized by what extensive framework existed inside this hat. Last week, the inside of the fingers revealed air ducts and extensive drainage systems. Did we not notice this when they were building it?

It's not that people didn't notice it. I'm sure some did. It's just that back in 2001 there was no twitter, instagram, and so on, nor did everyone walk around with cameras in their pocket ready to take a picture and upload to the Internet within seconds.

It probably did not show the intricacies of the cooling systems, etc.! I just thought it was plopped down there and while it is obviously made to withstand the elements, I had no idea of the intricacies!

That being said I always liked the hat itself, I ABSOLUTELY HATED ITS LOCATION. If the BAH had been built over the entrance to Fantasmic or out front in the entrance plaza I think it would have been fantastic.

If the BAH had been built over the entrance to Fantasmic or out front in the entrance plaza I think it would have been fantastic.

That would have been a great place for it.. walking under it to go see F! would have been a nice touch.
