Is the clock ticking on the Sorcerer Mickey Hat icon at the Studios? YES!

I read those comments there. Hysterical! They take one look at the jagged edges and scorch marks and start talking about its relocation. Ron White was right. You can't fix stupid. It would probably be easier to build a new one by now than to reassemble this one.

TDO thinks the jagged edges and scorch marks will give it a more "sorcerer-authentic" feel for when it is reassembled in it's new home...! :)

 ;)

Well, it really doesn't matter, but, I still believe it. If I had a dollar for every time our "insiders" have been wrong I probably could afford a room in a Deluxe Disney Resort. It would have been a whole lot less expensive to paint the hat then to tear it down. Just for the record I no longer believe in the Easter Bunny. I am, however, pretty confident in the existence of the Easter Turtle.
probably, because most of the people who suddenly claimed to be "insiders". Were just trolls or guys who wanted their 5 minute fame by lying.

Just much, much slower.
like this was directed by the guy who did the movie of the 300 spartans.

Funny thing is, I visited MGM a lot as a child (before BAH), then again as a Teen when it became DHS and then again as an Adult over the last 15 years years. All I remember is that HAT because as a child I simply don't remember that theater facade being all that memorable. But the HAT certainly was a Weenie I could remember and sure enough I always associated it with MGM/DHS. So seeing the Chinese theater starting to surface from behind that hat as you look down Hollywood blvd. feels a little strange to me.

BTW I am in the camp that thinks, while the BAH certainly felt awkward in the location it was in. I still feel like a lot of the good memories of MGM/DHS growing up included seeing BAH in the distance as you approached and entered MGM/DHS and I am a little sorry to see it go. But I realize it has to go.

My apologies if this has been asked before, but are they still taking pictures of guests down Hollywood Boulevard while the hat is partially removed?
We were there for Marathon weekend (first week in January) when the construction fences had gone up. No photopass people were pointed at the hat. They had plenty of photopass people, but your views were the gateway leading to art of animation academy, or facing the opposite way down hollywood blvd or down sunset. They also had increased the character meet and greets in the plaza in front of the hat. Very regular rotations of Chip & Dale, Goofy, Donald, and Daisy. All facing so you have greenery in the background.
