LP's was the first Tweet pic I saw so I reported it here. Had no idea the pics started on Friday. Sorry about that.

Was hoping the flower bed would come back but guess not.
No worries, it kind got lost behind all that babble about DinoRama :/

The spot on the map will probably remain empty until its replacement is constructed. Rumors are pointing to a permanent stage with retractable audio and lighting equipment. Personally, I hope its shape still forms Mickey's nose.

I'm sure it will be a big oval stage...It would make sense

Although I see that as possible, I don't recall that even being a rumor. It was more an overzealous fan thinking out loud and pulling that out of the sky. It's only a rumor if it has some degree of traceability back to someone that might actually know.

I think this has already been mentioned, but the hat would be nice at the top of the hill before you enter Fantasmic! theater. I would be ok with it outside the main entrance too.

I'll put my guess on the hat being replaced by a more permanent stage base in front of the Chinese theater. One that would make it easier for them to add/remove the trusses and lighting when they are doing shows, but not be very noticeable when the stage isn't in place. That will also give them more room in front of the stage for the audience.

It's like trying to go to the Field Museum, but having to make your way through an arts and crafts fair set up in the parking lot to get to it.
That arts and crafts fair would also have to be mocking the Field Museum. Primeval Whirl is about going back in time to the brink of dinosaur extinction, just like at Dinosaur/Countdown to Extinction.

No flower bed that was there before the hat, oh well. Will DHS continue to have stages there? That might explain why the flower bed is not returning.
It could also just be a quick edit on the image file of the maps.

And I always thought it was designed to recognize creation science.

BREAKING: First look at New DHS Guidemap from LP on Twitter(It's the Japanese Guidemap): https://twitter.com/laughing_place/status/551861872379838464

Last I heard the entire stage was going to be retractable. Hopefully it'll look good and not block a thing, akin to the Castle stage.

My problem with Dinorama is that it's a complete antithesis of Dinoland USA's signature attraction: Dinosaur.
Cheesy roadside attractions can be a great amusement park theme (see: Carsland at DCA), but there's a jarring disconnect between the more scholarly Dinosaur Institute that has a real "Welcome To Jurassic Park" aura about it, and then the traveling sideshow a short distance away.

It's like trying to go to the Field Museum, but having to make your way through an arts and crafts fair set up in the parking lot to get to it.
Ever been out west? You see roadside dinosaurs and respectable natural history attractions side by side all the time. This is most pronounced in Vernal Utah, which might as well be the REAL Dinoland USA. (In fact, the tourism department of that particular part of Utah actually calls itself "Dinosaur Land") It's the gateway to the West Side of Dinosaur National Monument which is basically the real Boneyard, is home to the Utah Field House Museum of Natural History, which much like the Dino Institute has an outdoor sculpture garden of tasteful and accurate prehistoric life, and full of all sorts of tacky roadside stuff all around town, with the pink sauropod Dinny being the town mascot.

Go back to the original prospectus: the Dinosaur Institute is established on a newfound fossil bed, and a college town forms around it.

It was never new-found: The T-Rex was discovered in 1947 and the Institute's been around since 1971.

Why not... I have no idea who RAXIP is. I don't just take the word of someone I never heard of. Go ahead if you want. What I will do is wait and see what happens. I don't run WDW.
He's been first reporting information and right about rumors Regarding WDW entertainment enough that I feel I have no reason to question him.

If he's wrong, he's wrong, but he deserves some respect.

So, the hat is to be destroyed entirely...and disposed of?

Or is it to lurk out of sight for a while in some storage locale?

As far as the odd "Dinoland Discussion" that has snuck in here...the thing I hate the most is the name of the land...seems to smell of cheese and Eisner...

And I'm reminded of this cartoon when I see the giant Chester/Hester Brontosaur:
