Is Star Tours going away?

they could retheme it to guardians of the galaxy? change the audio animatronic to rocket raccoon and send us on a 70s music filled cosmic party through space to meet up with the rest of the guardians and along the way we get caught up in a battle between thanos and the nova corps - similar to the star tours idea just the theming and the video would need changing.

I’m thinking we’ll see a new incarnation of the Indiana Jones Adventure.
Instead of the full motion vehicles used at DL and TDL, or the crazy mouse “Temple of Peril” in DLP, we will see a brand new ride system.
The ride would take over both the old Star Tours and IJ Epic Stunt Spectacular areas, with the current Blacklot Express area being converted into an IJ themed quick service location.
I firmly believe that as small as Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar is that it was essentially built as a test run for something bigger.

I definitely think we may see more Indy in the parks, but I don't know that, with all of the money being put into the Studios at the moment, we'll see something as ambitious as what you described, at least for a few years.

I hope there’s more Indy too but I see your point about the money being spent in the park. But the studios IMO will need at least 2 more rides to deal with the capacity after SW:GE, TSL and MMRRW will help but those will be bandaid to deal with the influx of people to that park and shows ain’t gonna cut it. The stunt shows takes up a pretty good chunk of real estate easily put an E ticket there and maybe a dark ride or two somewhere else maybe in the sound stages where they do meet and greets. No reason they can’t copy the Monsters Inc ride from DCA in one of those spaces or Incredibles dark ride. I know my daughter would love a Moana ride just saying there are options

Lord, I hope they don't clone the Monster's, Inc. ride. It was a hasty re-skin of the awful Superstar Limo ride that, thankfully, at least turned out to be just fine, if not spectacular. A full-blown Incredibles dark ride would be great, but I can almost guarantee it would just be a coaster; though hopefully a better-realized one than the re-skin at DCA that, frankly, looks like something that Paramount would have designed back when they owned King's Island. I watched a video of that one last night and was appalled. I know that it was never meant to be anything other than a modification of California Screamin', but good lord, if it doesn't look like the most thrown-together piece of garbage I've seen in a Disney park. Disney Store character statues look better than the figures on that ride.

Was Star Tours once rumored for a Tron overlay?
Unrelated: Do we currently know if the Star Tours replacement will be a standalone ride or part of a larger themed land within DHS?

SW:GE takes place in the actual Star Wars Galaxy. It is part of the canon. You are in the story. The same story that all of the other Star Wars media takes place in. Meaning everything that is done within SW:GE has to conform to being 'in universe'. Within reason, of course - we're not going to be paying for food in credits (although that would be amazing). All the merch, food, etc is designed as if it was created on Batuu, not as something put into a theme park. If you want generic Star Wars stuff, you'll have to get it outside of SW:GE. You won't find things that say 'Star Wars' inside the land.

Here's a (simplified) exchange from Galactic Nights back in December:

"So, I'm not going to go buy a Star Wars T-shirt from this toydarian?"

"No, you will not buy a Star Wars T-shirt." "The food and beverages, merchandise, all of it, is part of this planet, Batuu. In-universe."

Star Tours on the other hand is just an attraction with scenes from Star Wars. They won't mix the two.
I thought they worked the peewee Herman robot from the original ride into that new Disney Star Wars cartoon.

I'm sorry, but I only noticed it two weeks ago when I was in Disney, and didn't snap any pictures at the time.
