Is Star Tours going away?

I can’t find any information on this, so does anyone know will Star Tours be taken down once SW:GE opens? Seems like unless they change the facade of the building the outside won’t fit the theming of the area anymore

My understanding is that it will remain for a short time, then eventually be rethemed using the same simulators but shifting away from Star Wars.

I don't see disney removing the attraction in WDW, considering how popular it is. I do see the one in disneyland going away, however, to open up for the start of the long rumored tomorrowland overhaul.

No idea. My two cents is that since Star Tours takes you around the SW Galaxy and not just one outpost, I see no problem leaving it where it is. Add the occasional scene when a new movie comes out. Otherwise, not everything themed Star Wars has to be inside SW:GE.

If it were to be changed today it would either be themed for Black Panther or COCO. I can see it know, flying with Pepita all around the after life world.

I think disney would put coco in the more fitting epcot and black panther isn't happening unless universal drops their deal.
My best ip idea for the spot is the cancelled roger rabbit trolley ride that was once planned for dhs.

I imagine it'll be rethemed sometime after GE opens. The new rides would likely put it to shame, and it would seem strange to have it be outside of the new land. They can't just reroute the entrance like with TSM, either.

Given the building's proximity to Muppet*Vision 3D....

But it would seem so out of place after SW GE opens. Nevermind, nothing at HS makes sense anymore.

Just like the Star Wars franchise under the leadership of Kathleen Kennedy.

Leadership.

I found it particularly stupid that Han Solo's new origin was that some bored Imperial bureaucrat gave him his last name. He was literally a heartbeat away from being "Han Noname" or "Han Only".

Whereas in the original George Lucas-approved canon (aka the CORRECT canon), the Solo family traced their ancestry back to the first settlers of Corellia, and included a brief Solo dynasty, of which Han may or may not have been a direct descendant, while Han's cousin Thrackan Sal-Solo decided to write his own history and use the Solo name to propel himself to a Corellian dictatorship.

Wouldn't surprise me if they moved the simulators to DCA for a California version of Iron Man Experience, as they're not beholden to a Universal Studios contract in Cali.

That is a good idea, but I think it is probably more likely for disneyland to use and move their own simulators for an iron man experience than to move ones from across America for it. I can see wires and other parts to be used and moved from Florida to California for repair reasons though.

Is Star Tours honestly popular anymore? The last two times I’ve ridden it there’s been less than 5 people in a vehicle with me and another time I was completely alone. I wonder why it has such a low amount of attendance considering there’s not a lot of rides there.
