Is Soarin always like this?

I want to say that is right after park open, since there is nobody sitting at any of the tables down on the lower level, and there is a steady stream of people from the door of the land to the Soarin entrance. If that is the case I would say that no its not always like that.

When the park initially opens, yes. Not sure about early EMH openings. We did an AK early EMH opening and it was just like this going back to Kilimanjaro Safaris.

Ugh, let them go for it...less people while I enjoy Epcot. My honest opinion about Soarin is that it's never worth a wait more than 20 minutes

I'd like to call them sheep, but frankly, between FastPass and Disney's marketing, it's not these peoples' fault. If they want to ride the attraction without spending forever in line, they have to join the cattle train. Exhibit #127 of why FastPass sucks.

Soarin is usually crowded in when the park opens. Test Track is almost as bad for opening. I have very good like on Soarin for waiting times. I wait less than 20 minutes for the times I go there.

sheep....more like sheeple...i think soarin is a great attraction but im so baffled as to why it is a "must do" i feel like it doesnt even embody what epcot was originally all about. the thing that i enjoy most is the orange smell because it brings me back to horizons.

That's the "get there as soon as it opens and snag a fastpass crowd"

Not really sheep or sheeple. Most first timers read that "Soarin' is an attraction you should hit as soon as the park opens because it has a long line during the day and FP are gone by 10:00 AM"

You could shoot the same video in front of TSMM at park opening as well.

Yes, this is a normal opening for Soarin'.

I've never been part of that "stampede" because there are other pavilions I prefer to lead off with and it is still possible to get a FP for Soarin' at 10 AM or 11 AM and I've never had problems doing so. I wouldn't wait TOO long to get the FP, though, especially on a crowded day!

I know it's like that at toy story mania. I haven't done that for soarin since 2006 I believe, and it was similar to this. I would NEVER head straight to soarin after the park opens. It'll either be Test Track or M:S, but mainly TT. Matter fact, I don't even really do Epcot anymore on openings. I'll do mgm so I can do TSM first thing and be in it's morning parade and hit Epcot about an hour or two later. I'm usually one of the first people on as well. Soarin isn't worth a 10 minute wait imo, not anymore at least.

I'd really have th wrack my brain to figure out the last time I was actually at a park for opening time. *Maybe* '05 or '04... (What can I say? I like my sleep)

Yes, pretty typical (not as bad during an EMH day); many in the line are 'fastpassers' and the wait time at opening (I think defaults to 20 minutes before they load their first riders). :) Toy Story is generally longer still.

yes it is always like this...has been every time we go to Disney. also the same can be said for Toy Story Mania at Hollywood Studios, that maybe even worse.

Personally i dont think any ride is worth more than a 20 minute wait. I never wait for anything thats 40 minutes or longer though. Granted I am contradicting myself but whatever.,

Wow!

Granted, I haven't visited nearly enough times to make an educated comment... But, I've never seen it like that.

The last time I visited Epcot I had thought the line for attraction would be long, or at least growing quickly. So, we decided to tackle it first thing.

It was practically walk-on. Before riding, we picked up a FastPass. Went back to the normal queue, rode it. Came out and then a line was forming and slow-moving. We used our FastPasses and rode it again. Came off, grabbed another FastPass for use later in the day.

If I love the ride enough I will be more than happy to wait up to 2 hours...but I REALLY have to love the ride:lol:

I didn't know Soarin was that popular http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-B9JRgH9DSE

I like how the CMs are guiding everyone towards Soarin'. What if I was headed to Living with the Land instead?

I've been a part of the herd a couple of times, but it was because I took people who had never been on the ride before and I wanted to make sure they didn't spend all day in line. If I can't get a FP for Soarin' I wont ride it that day, unless the line is very short. Its just not worth waiting an hour for a four minute ride.
