Is Soarin always like this?

are the people on this site the only ones who don't run right for Soarin' at park opening? I agree that while it's a good attraction, definitely never worth a 70-80 minute wait...nor would I wait in that line like cattle going into a slaughter house..

I would much rather ride Test Track (even in it's current condition) right at park opening.

There's probably a few here who still enjoy Soarin or haven't been on it enough to not enjoy it anymore. I agree with you, I rather do TT as well. But I don't usually do Epcot anymore for mornings. I rather be in a similar stampede to TSM at MGM. I'll do Epcot later in the day, and honestly if I don't do Soarin on a particular trip I could careless. When and if they ever change the film, then maybe I'll join those folks. Until then, have fun!!

sheep....more like sheeple...i think soarin is a great attraction but im so baffled as to why it is a "must do" i feel like it doesnt even embody what epcot was originally all about. the thing that i enjoy most is the orange smell because it brings me back to horizons.
:sohappy::sohappy::sohappy::sohappy: I miss Horizons sooo much!!!

Why do some majorly hyped attractions turn into that mob scene (add Test Track to that list), and others are ghost towns a year or so after opening? (i.e., Mission: SPACE)

Personally I think Soarin' is a lot more enjoyable than M:S, but I'd take either of them over TT. They all feature unique or advanced technology, and they all had the full force of Disney marketing as "can't miss, blow you away experiences" when they opened. So what accounts for the difference in lines?

I've only been on Soarin' twice, neither time did I wait more than 15 minutes and I didn't have a fastpass.

Once was in December when it was about 50 degrees and raining all day so I thought "hey, maybe no line".. I was right.

The other time my friend and I just took a shot and walked over and saw there was literally no line, waited maybe 5 minutes. As far as I'm concerned, this ride never has a line. :ROFLOL:

Also one time I rode I was in row 1 (with no ones feet hanging down above me) and another time row 2, or 3 and I must say it really ruins the effect when you can see the feet hanging down in your face.

Pretty much the line is always like that, including EMH mornings -- I would say ESPECIALLY EMH mornings....the park is always more crowded on EMH days than others.

Unless you go on one of those Crowd Estimate 1/10 days, there is always a substantial line -- and there is always a crowd at early opening.

Horizons was way better and had a steady moving line. Sadly at the end it had no line with no one to hype up the advertisements.

I like how the CMs are guiding everyone towards Soarin'. What if I was headed to Living with the Land instead?

I've been a part of the herd a couple of times, but it was because I took people who had never been on the ride before and I wanted to make sure they didn't spend all day in line. If I can't get a FP for Soarin' I wont ride it that day, unless the line is very short. Its just not worth waiting an hour for a four minute ride.

They are going to kill Living with the Land that way.

I remember a ride that was very fun. It was called Journey into your Imagination. All the kids including the whole family loved it and there was a great interactive playground called Image Works at the end. I would spend more time in there then I did Innoventions. Later on they wasted millions of dollars to scale down the ride just to make it into a ghost town. The ride is extremely annoying and you get farted on in the middle. I know it was supposed to be funny but I just stood there with a blank stare wondering where Dream finder Was. In 2002 they returned the theme song. Unlike the old version that changed different thru out the ride this new version gets stuck in your head to the point you want to hurt someone. It was a classic that had so much potential but they took a money bath to make it better and no one rides it anymore and I dont blame them.

I think that Mission: Space killing a few folks dampened it's potential popularity.

And yes I know there were pre-existing conditions but that is irrelevant to the general public.

If they put the FP machines at the entrance of the pavilion, they would most likely run out faster than they do already. Plus, it would create an even bigger traffic jam with people trying to get into the pavilion and those stopping for a FP.

I mean outside near the entrance of the pavillion.

We go to Disney tyically every 4-6 months when we visit my family in Orlando. After doing this for three years I finally got to ride Soarin. We are not early birds so fastpass (on other previous trips) was out of the question and I get really antsy waiting in line for over 30 minutes. So on our honeymoon in August we decided to head over to Epcot since they were having EMH. We enjoyed some cocktails at R&C then decided to check out the line for Soarin since it was late by that time and we figured it would be pretty short. It was 45 minutes lol. I decided to wait it out and am glad we went on, I really enjoyed it. However I still would not wait 45-60+ minutes to ride it again. I was really surprised that the line was that long during EMH but I guess it was during a busy season.

Lines are always long during EMH -- it is a complete WDW "myth" that you get the "park to yourself during EMH"....95% of the people in the resorts head to the park that has EMH that day. THe lines the first hour of early entry can be as long as those once the general guests have been let in.

Very true. I went with my friend in April last year and it took a lot of convincing to get her onto the less intense mode because of what she heard about the deaths(and my dad talking about the time someone threw up next to him on the ride:brick:)
My Other friend who I'm going with Next March is a complete Disney Nut. Mission:Space is the only ride she won't go on because it freaks her out how many people have died.

Ugh, let them go for it...less people while I enjoy Epcot. My honest opinion about Soarin is that it's never worth a wait more than 20 minutes
i completely agree!! don't understand what the huge deal is about it. to me the best part is the take off. other than that it's just another simulator ride

i'd like to call them sheep, but frankly, between fastpass and disney's marketing, it's not these peoples' fault. If they want to ride the attraction without spending forever in line, they have to join the cattle train. Exhibit #127 of why fastpass sucks.
thank you thank you thank you !!!! Finally someone else agrees with my opinion. I really think fp sucks!! Eventhough i use it.

Excuse me for being a terrible Epcot fan but I never set foot in The Land pavilion until the first time I rode Snoarin so ever since that ride came I have also took the time to check out the rest of the pavilion.
