Pretty disappointing that Disney built a ride that a large portion of guests can't even get on. I live in Florida and have tried 3 times to get on to no avail. I feel bad for people who come a long distance and spend tons of money and can't get on. I am glad it's a great ride but if you can't experience it. Not cool. We are talking about a company that prints money (at least they did before covid) to build a ride that can't handle the daily guest count is pretty **** poor. But it's the same company that had to add more capacity to Toy story Mania and Soarin. Truthfully every person who buys a ticket to the Studios should be able to experience the ride (Or at least have a fighting chance). They shouldn't have to go through a bunch of bs to get on it. If someone wants to wait 3 hours to get on, let them. Thats really the only fair thing to do imo.
Did you research beforehand or gotten tips on how to book or you just simply thought it was as simple as pressing your phone screen? I'm sorry but 3 failed times is definitely on you and not the system. Being a Floridian puts lesser stress than those who travelled far and yet you failed 3 times. Out of 5 times I have ridden it, I only failed the first time but were successful on the next four cause I learned how to do it properly.

I went on opening day (standing at the front of the line at oh dark thirty) and they could barely keep it running throughout the day. That was stressful.

But I got to ride it four times, in part due to vouchers and super FPs. That was cool.

Same. I was front of the line at the tapstiles until a crew of 3 joined their friend beside us at the last minute, causing us to lose our place. Hope it wasn't your group! Anyway, I'd never been to an opening day (and it was SO exciting) -- and like you, was able to ride multiple times. However, every day shouldn't be opening day minus those freebie return vouchers and FPs.

I spent this past Friday at Hollywood Studios. I was visiting WDW for two days and if I could not do any attraction other than ROTR I would be happy having just done that. People in this thread keep calling it a "ride". It is not a ride, it is an experience. If you are able to get a boarding pass leave your cell phones, etc., in your pockets and just immerse yourself in the story. Don't watch the walk-through videos on Youtube or read detailed reviews of what it's all about if you do not want to spoil it for you.

I was also there back in December, 5 days after it first opened. They did things differently back then and I liked that way much better. People were rewarded for putting in the effort if they wanted to get to the park at 5:30am and stand in line for several hours to be one of the first in the park and get a boarding pass. I was probably 7 minutes back in line when the gates opened and I still got a boarding pass.

Not so much anymore. When the magic 10:00am and 2:00pm hours strike you'd better be ready and have a fast phone. All boarding groups are gone within 15 seconds. I missed it at 10:00am but I listened to the advice of a cast member the second time and turned off Disney WiFi and used my cell phone service and got it. There are a few more tips that might save a second or two. Every millisecond counts the way they are doing it right now.

I want to personally thank Ashley for her advice that helped me secure a boarding pass. I offered her a financial gratuity but apparently they are not permitted to accept such things. Another cast member at Guest Relations said to go on social media and mention her and so here it is. Thank you for making my day, Ashley. :)

Don't want to sounds as toxic member of this amazing group but have seen some videos on YouTube where mr. disney was showed as person involved in masonry and generally was part of cult.

Yeah, Disney's masonry is pretty incredible: as an example, check out the rockwork in the Rise of the Resistance queue. ;)
