Mario, Luigi, and Nintendo in general will always hold a special place in my heart.
All other game systems can burn.

That just shows you haven't played the right video games. There are RPG games as deep as good novels out there. And, looking at the games that *are* all surface fun... how is that any different from a ride on a coaster?Video games are surface level trash.
There are good, non-violent games on the other systems, but it's only the norm on Nintendo. Nintendo right now seems to be the only entertainment company still so thoroughly devoted to proving that games can be fun and captivating without being dark, cynical and violent. And I love them for that. They are the old-school Disney and Willy Wonka (Wilder, not Depp) of the gaming industry.Mario, Luigi, and Nintendo in general will always hold a special place in my heart.

Things seem to be thawing there: Square-Enix let Nintendo put Cloud into Smash Bros... and there are rumors Geno could be next.Yeah, there's similar circumstances with super mario rpg as well. Until the day square-enix says to nintendo, "hey we want to make super mario rpg 2 with you", it will never happen.

Splash Mountain gets special treatment because its an e-ticket? Whatever.Splash mountain is a popular e-ticket.
Nemo is a somewhat popular maybe c or d ticket, at best.
Well, to each their own, but... yeah... games are just going to keep getting bigger (holding back Ready Player One reference with great restraint). Some MMORPGs have fan bases as deep as Disney. Some even turn into a social meeting place.
Tror is just missing out
Do the shooting gallery. It will relieve some of your stress. Then take a nice ride on the Columbia. Watch them shoot the canon and then head downstairs to check out living conditions. Ride the Mark Twain on the top deck and wave at all the peons in line for POTC. Then take the rafts over to TSI and explore the caves. Canoes can be skipped unless you like padding lazy tourists around the river by yourself. Total time would be about an hour out of your day.
Don't forget theTower of TerrorGOTG:MB. It's Totally Rad!

Speaking of MMORPGs, a group of (real world) friends and I pretty much lived inside World of Warcraft for the first six months of its existence, exploring the fantasy world of Azeroth together. It's over, I'd probably never spend that much time in a game again, but... y'know something? Those six months were INSANELY FUN!
I was never one for MMORPGs like WoW. Too much socializing. I preferred shorter game play like ones from arcade games and my Atari. But then again give me a ready good JRPG, you won't see me for weeks.WoW is how my sister met her husband. Its the wedding I talked about where they dressed up as WoW characters.
I played WoW for awhile up until Cataclysm was released, but then got busy with work and never went back.

Cataclysm ruined WoW for me. Seeing all those towns I'd grown to love get DESTROYED was not something I wanted from my favorite virtual world!WoW is how my sister met her husband. Its the wedding I talked about where they dressed up as WoW characters.

No, not since sixth grade. You played AD&D didn't you....
and then it didn't happen the last few referbs. Following that logic we should have lost Mr Toad instead of the CBJ.
Hey there, it's not meaningless. Theme parks and video games are just different mediums for presenting fantasy worlds; some virtual, some physical. It's already started to come together, and Disney will be using game worlds in the parks in the future. The Nemo Subs represent baby steps toward integrated the virtual and the physical into an experience that can't be achieved by other means. Sooner than we think, we'll be interacting with videogame characters on rides that talk and deal with us in real time, responding to our words and actions. The Troll won... can you all take this meaningless tangent to another thread?

Yeah, but the difference is Nemo is a nightmare to maintain and takes up way too much space in a park that's badly in need of it. There are so many reasons as to why the subs should not still be there -- I suspect the only reason they even exist today is because SWL got its own land from scratch instead of a Tomorrowland retheme at the last minute. If you remember, last time it was closed nearly a year before it reopened and I'm sure that was a result of a wait and see game.
