Is it me or do you just get better service at the Deluxe Resorts over Value resorts. I mean on paper it would seem only right to get better service but as far as just the attitude of the people working in the different resorts varied depening on resort.

I was treated more better at the AKL then I was at ASM and Pop. I understand some things but Disney should be Disney no matter where I go.

Am I crazy??

I have never noticed "better" service at a deluxe rather "more service" than a value which can seem like better service. The CM's at POP are just as nice to me as the one's that I have encountered at the Poly, AKL or the Contemporary.

We're trying to stay at all the resorts, and have stayed in economy, moderate and deluxe. So far the best CMs we've found have been at the Coronado Springs and the Caribbean Beach. But we haven't been disappointed in the service we've gotten at any resort - they are all great.

I agree. I dont recall receiving "more better" service at a Deluxe vs Value. Additional services are available, but all have been polite, nice, and eager to please.

I agree with Master Yoda and hcswingfield. I've stayed at Sports, Pop, POFQ, CS, CB, WL, AKL, and Contemp, and I've never really noticed any of the CMs being nicer or treating me better at one resort over another. Though I can say it may seem otherwise sometimes (especially at check-in), depending on how experienced the CM is or even the time of day - a CM training at the check-in desk during a peak arrival time at Pop could seem a little less "friendly" than an experienced CM during a slower arrival time at the Contemporary.

Seeing that i have never stayed at another other than a "value" I find the service there great .. And to be honest I like staying at the Value resorts for a few reasons:

1) I get the same benefits staying there
2) When I go to the world I go there for the theme parks. So basically I just want a place to rest my weary head and feet
3) I can afford it :ROFLOL:

I totally agree with you. We've stayed at all the values and love it. When we are there to go to the same parks, stand in the same lines, it doesn't make sense to pay double the price to stay at a deluxe. I find the service at the values to be great. I really love how the CM's do the hustle every night at 6pm. Its a hoot!!!

I think the Disney Magic is everywhere, regardless of how much you pay for the room you sleep in.

I've stayed at values, moderates & deluxe resorts. I do think that you get better service & services at the moderate & deluxe resorts. The values are always so crowded and check-in takes forever. The bus service at the values is absolutely horrible. I have a 2-year old and I take a stroller so the odds of me staying at a value resort and fighting to get on one of their buses is about 0%. Pop Century has the best bus service of the value resorts but it's still not that great. It doesn't share buses with any other resort but also has 2-3X as many rooms as a moderate resort. I have 2 trips planned this summer and both will be at POR.

We've stayed at values, mods, and deluxe, and have never noticed any difference in the service. The only time we ever had a problem was at POR, but I think that was more of an isolated incident.

We've stayed at numerous resorts and haven't really seen any difference in the quality of the staffing. We found the worst bus service at CSR in Dec of last year perhaps during other times its not so bad. Every place I am sure has a bad day(s). It wasn't the CM's fault or bus service fault it is the set up. Everyone just mingles about waiting for buses w/o any park designation and one guy clearly lost it when he couldn't cut in front of 40 other people who had been waiting some time. I felt really bad for the one CM who was doing bus duty.

You could make one of three arguments...

1: Because there are fewer guests at Deluxe resorts than at Value Resorts, the staff can afford to be a little more personable and directly friendly with guests.

2: You just happened to get a very good staff on some very good days at AKL, or competent staff on average days at the Value resorts, during your respective stays...

3: Because you spent more at the Deluxe resort, and your perception was that service would be better, you were paying more attention to how you were treated, and as such, perceived the treatment to be better. Which is not to say you were lying, don't get me wrong. Perception colors absolutely everything except stone-cold facts. Did it rain in Epcot yesterday? That's either a yes or no answer. What resort has the best staff? That's a perception that will change from person to person.

We almost always stay at the Value Resorts. We found that our service there has been just as good as the one time we stayed at the Contemporary. I think it can just depend on the cast member and time of day. We usually drive to the parks (I'm in a wheelchair), so I can't speak for the bus system. The Values allow us to stay longer and enjoy the trip with the whole extended family!! :sohappy: I'll take more time at WDW any day!! :ROFLOL: :ROFLOL: :ROFLOL:

The level of service across WDW should be the same wherever you stay - the difference between a Deluxe Resort and a Value Resort (in other words - what you're paying for) is due to room size and the more facilities on offer to the guest.
Disney do not employ staff and then place the miserable, grumpy ones at a Value Resort and the smiley, happy ones at the Deluxe !!

To me it seems they place the more professional ones at the deluxe resorts. Or maybe they tell them they have to be when they start working there.

I'll start off by saying that in all the years I've been staying at values or Riverside the service level has always been exceptional so no, I don't think I've ever been the victim of bad service based on which resort I was staying at.

I do think the op is slightly on to something however. Lets face it, most (but not all) of the people paying big bucks to stay at a Deluxe are expecting to have their butt kissed and every whim catered to. Disney isn't stupid, they know this and perhaps they do tell their CM's at these resorts to treat the guests with kid gloves.

I deal with rich/wealthy people from time to time on my job and most days it's no picnic.
