Is it me or do you just get better service at the Deluxe Resorts over Value resorts. I mean on paper it would seem only right to get better service but as far as just the attitude of the people working in the different resorts varied depening on resort.

I was treated more better at the AKL then I was at ASM and Pop. I understand some things but Disney should be Disney no matter where I go.

Am I crazy??

I was just talking about this topic with another guests on the bus this past weekend headed to AS Sports. They said they satyed at Port Orleans and received much better treatment all around. The transportaion was better, the service, cast members, mouse keeping, and everything. I guess you get what you pay for. :veryconfu

We stay at a variety of resorts: AKL, WL, Poly, Contemporary, Beach Club, POFQ and once at Caribbean Beach. I have found outstanding service at all of the deluxe, often mediocre service at the moderate POFQ with indifferent unmagical cast members, but found the cast members at CB, also a moderate, to be comparable to the deluxe resorts!

You could make one of three arguments...

1: Because there are fewer guests at Deluxe resorts than at Value Resorts, the staff can afford to be a little more personable and directly friendly with guests.

2: You just happened to get a very good staff on some very good days at AKL, or competent staff on average days at the Value resorts, during your respective stays...

3: Because you spent more at the Deluxe resort, and your perception was that service would be better, you were paying more attention to how you were treated, and as such, perceived the treatment to be better. Which is not to say you were lying, don't get me wrong. Perception colors absolutely everything except stone-cold facts. Did it rain in Epcot yesterday? That's either a yes or no answer. What resort has the best staff? That's a perception that will change from person to person.

Great post! I agree, it really depends on your expectations combined with your observations. Personally, I've never noticed a difference between value & delux in service or friendliness of staff. The biggest difference that strikes me is immersiveness. I, personally, don't find the values to be that "immersive" to me. The delux resorts, however, really create an experience and tell a story for me. But that's just my personal taste and for someone else it may be completely flipped.
