Is Innoventions really needed anymore?

This has always been my least favorite part of Epcot but at least when it was CC in Epcot Center it had some great new tech and was exciting. Now it seems to lack a cohesive theme and there doesn't seem to be much new tech or tech of the future featured there.

1. Since Future World is becoming less about the future could they do something better with the space?

2. Is there really a need to have two sides of Innoventions.

3. Could anything elses really take it's place?

Could anything else take it's place?

I'm sure Disney Execs could use that space for some prime retail locations :lookaroun

Well you've missed the point of it. Innoventions is a mix between the words Innovative and Invention, not futuristic.

In a word yes. Inoventions provides a constantly refreshing set of interesting attractions that are fun and educational. It is what Epcot was supposed to be about...edutainment. It also provides a good bit of corporate sponsorship cash to the park.

So is sum of all thrills a mundane carnival ride to your eyes? I certainty do not know of another attraction like it anywhere else.

The tech is innovative so I do like that but the Waste Management, Video games, House of the future (didn't find it very futuristic I own a lot of that stuff), fire house, I just think Innoventions needs to re branded from stuff like this. I dunno maybe I just miss CC

Technology moves far to fast to be kept up with in a place like Inoventions. At best it will be current to current high end but to keep it bleeding edge would be nearly impossible. Follow a site like Gizmodo for a month or so. You will find that what is bleeding edge technology today will be almost common place in less than a few months. A great example for this would be computer hardware. The new Radeon HD 5970 video card hits the streets tomorrow and they are predicting that it will hold the fastest video card crown for a mere 10 months and that is considered a long time to hold that title.

All good points I am just wondering if there is still a need for both sides?

You can't never have too many ideas. With one side, it would become old VERY quickly.

I do agree it isn't as futuristic, but then again, "Future World" doesn't exactly have much of a meaning as back in 1982... :(

ABSOLUTELY NEEDED.

While it has become diluted over the past few years, and is showing MAJOR signs of improvement...It has GREAT potential. This is the "Showplace" that Walt wanted....just not in a active city setting.

If done right aesthetically, content wise, promotional wise, Innoventions could really be the Center of the EPCOT experience.

See what I did there?:lookaroun;)

Yeah...a fish is a terrible fit in a pavilion about the sea. I still can believe they have cars in a pavilion about the automotive industry. What are the smoking at WDI?:brick:

Hmm Finding Nemo A cartoon clown fish and Future World, how does Nemo fit in FW?

Am I to assume that you have knowledge of some CIA engineered nurotoxin that has been released into the worlds oceans that will kill all the clown fish thereby eliminating them from the future?

An since we are on the subject.....How does a royal purple psudodragon fit into future world?
